  • Re: Acer AL2416W No Logo, Backlight works, Still no picture.

Thanks for your input budm and rddube..
I will give it a shot with the shim and make sure contacts are in good shape.. I think a new cable is in order at the very least.. I did my best to strip back clean contacts but it was tough.. confirmation that my T-CON board is good is very helpful info.. much appreciated..

I will tear it down one more time and try to shim.. if no luck I will order the parts..

Thanks for the info and the manual..

After fiddling around some more.. and stripping back the flat white cable I was able to get an almost perfect picture but would have to hold the cable in place perfectly on the main board as the clip is broken. There were moments when the screen looked flawless which makes me believe the T-con board might be ok? Not sure.. you are right though.. those contacts look a little burnt in there..

I did my best to patch it up and hold the cable in a good position...

Ok.. definitely headed in the right direction.. I don't see that there is anything wrong with the T-CON board or the way the cables were seated. But after pulling the thin white cable for inspection and a reseat I see that there is some serious corrosion on the right side.. I cleaned this up a bit and re-seated it. Did the same on the other side and the damn clip broke off.. it was really brittle kinda dry rot action. So with me pushing my finger back on the main board flat cable connection I was able to get some funky...

Great suggestions... I am currently using my second monitor to write this message so I will have to shut down and tear this thing down again to try the main board in the good monitor. I will start by pulling the chassis and checking out the T-CON board.. thanks again for pointing me in this direction..

I will report back with my findings..

thanks for the quick response.. Yes.. I figured the same thing but decided to cover my bases. I did remove the main board from the other monitor which is exactly the same. No change. Backlight still works and LED green.. no picture.

I am attaching some photos of them linked up.. if that's helpful at all..

and to be clear.. the main board is this correct? I was hoping that was the issue and I could just buy this replacement part. but hooking the working one up did not fix the issue [url]...

    Hello Folks.
I have read through every thread I could find on this website and I don't seem to see anyone with the same issue as I have.
This monitor was working a week ago. Then all of the sudden it just went dark on boot up. The backlight is on, and no logo or image shows when hooked up to a working source. The green led stays lit.
Probably worth mentioning that for months before this happened the menu would pop up and stay on and flicker randomly. It should also be noted that I have 2 of these monitors and one of them is still functioning fine.

    First I tried...
