Badcaps Veteran nomoresonys is bang on. After first Firmware flash, both the "power on button" and "remote power on" worked, but it still started in the initial setup mode.
I then flashed it a second time with same firmware (went much quicker) and both power on/off methods continued working and it started in the normal operating mode with
last channel watched. I have not reassembled so will see if it behaves itself for awhile while apart and then try assembly. Many thanks to nomoresonys...

I have a 23l1350U issue as well which is not the same but in a similar area, so thought I would try to revive this thread. If this goes against the wishes of the community then let me know and I'll start another 23l1350 thread.
My issue is the tv will power up to set up mode when first plugged in, operate normally, but when powered off by either the remote or on board power switch, it will not come on again with either remote or power switch.
The power cord has to be pulled and left out for a minute or so...
