A loaded question for sure. We all feel that we spent wisely. Well I hope we have!!!! I have a Kuro PDP-LX5090 screen, and Love the glowing image with incredible detail. With mains filtering it improves still.

So. What is out there at the moment that beats this screen in terms of blacks and crispness without artifacts and other rubbish on screen?

This thread has helped me massively; for which I thank you. My 5090 started buzzing like mad. Once I took the front plastic trim off of the screen I could see arcing "fireworks" going on between screen and the metal foam strip. In each corner of the TV there are the screws that hold the whole screen in place. I tightened the screws as they had become looser than ideal. Voila!

Quiet. Perfectly quiet. Over the moon as this is still the best panel I have ever seen....
