The first image shows the whole backside of the TV. The following three pictures are the three individual boards. And the last picture answers your question:



The answer is YES. The backlights do come on when the T-CON board is disconnected from the main board. Do you happen to know what this means?...

I will get those pictures as soon as I am able to. This is my first experience on any forum ever, and did not expect a reply this quickly, currently its the middle of the night here.

I do happen to have one picture however, it is a picture of the T-Con module....

Samsung UE48H6400AW LCD TV

Main Board: BN94-07309H
T-Con: BN95-01309A
Power Supply: BN44-00709A

A friend of mine has a Samsung UE48H6400AW TV that does not work anymore.
When the TV is plugged in the backlight is off and it shows no picture when doing the "flashlight test". The sound however does work.

When I connect my laptop to the TV via an HDMI cable the TV remains to show the same symptoms, and only sound can be heard.

Some power does go to all boards, because all boards have at least one LED that is...
