Have 2 of these. Other one works perfectly, version A13. Updated to latest A29 with no problems. Other machine gives "FW status recovery error", was already A29. Tried dumps from working machine, no more FW error. Only problem now is that at first boot wired network refuses to start, device gives code 10. BUT after reboot it does connect flawlessly.
Any idea what could be causing this? With original FW error bios, network was fine with every boot. Just would like to remove that pesky message from startup.

Re: Asus G750JZ R2.0 just need one resistor value
Thank you, Sir!
It was indeed zero ohms, that's what I used already. After replacing, got picture with lots of static.
U6201 eDP to LVDS bridge chip was also damaged, took that from a donor board and after replacement picture was OK.
Previous shop also damaged display and HDD connectors, need to swap those too.

Asus G750JZ R2.0 just need one resistor value
No picture on LCD panel, resistor between DDC power pin (pin 22 on display conn) and +3VS is open circuit. Probably caused by bad display cable, now replaced.
Value of resistor? It might be just 0 ohm, but just wanted to make sure.Last edited by SMDFlea; 08-17-2020, 03:09 PM.

Re: Vestel 17MB97 motherboard quirks
What I'm looking for is a way to make it work with original firmware after replacing only SoC from donor board.
Somehow software checks SoC during boot, could it be MAC address, HDCP key, some unique ID in SoC or what.
Also tried several SPIs from other boards, did not make any difference, still refuses to boot.

Vestel 17MB97 motherboard quirks
Anybody familiar with these?
50" Finlux TV with 17MB97 came in for repair. CPU/SoC was shorted, replaced it with another one from a working 48" donor board.
It appears that software somehow prevents booting if SoC and NAND are not from the same chassis. TV is working if I use also NAND from donor board, problem is that picture is upside down.
Verified this behaviour with two other boards, no boot if SoC and NAND are not from same board, it just keeps flashing stby LED.
I was hoping to retain "identity" and features...

Re: Lenovo U330P backlight problem
Yes, already have it.
Removed Q1, no change. At least LCD_BK_OFF signal is not the cause. Will continue tomorrow with remaining PANEL_BKEN and DISPON signals.

Re: Lenovo U330P backlight problem
Lid switch is OK.
When changing resolution from OS desktop, backlight briefly flashes once, but never stays on.

Yes, tried live linux. Backlight turns off soon after booting when resolution changes. Not a driver issue.

Lenovo U330P backlight problem
Hi,
Mobo Quanta LZ5. Screen backlight stays on at bios, but when booting to any operating system, when panel switches to higher resolution, backlight turns off.
Still can see picture with flashlight and everything else works normally. Backlight voltage from mobo seems low, only ~8 volts. Is this correct?
Laptop was worked on by another shop, they tested display panel in another computer and it was OK, so issue is with motherboard.
Schematics from backlight voltage producing area would be nice...
