I'll get back here with an update once I've got the back off and go from there. The fact that it seems to play up more frequently in the heat is interesting and it may be a connection that is the problem.

In answer to your question, It is a 60PS40FD Manufactured in April2009. It an old set by today's standards I know, but I want to get as many hours out of it as I can. It takes two people to lift, so getting around the back is going to be interesting as there's not a lot of space to move behind.

Tw2005 as you also live in QLD can you please advise the best place to go looking for parts if need be?

Hi, I have spent a few days sorting through threads before asking for help so hopefully I won't ask too many stupid questions. Please accept my apologies in advance as I am not a Tech.

I have an LG 1080P 60 inch Plasma TV and the bottom half of the screen is black. It has been playing up on and off like this for twelve months. It seems to be play up more frequently in summer. Hi, Can I just say this is a fantastic forum! I have no experience with electronics, but am very keen to learn. I have a problem with my LG Plasma and have spent a few hours reading the boards to try and diagnose the problem and hopefully fix it myself. The bottom half of the screen flickers and goes completely black, but then it will work fine with a complete picture. It's been playing up like this on and off for 12 months and seems to be worse in the hotter months of the year. It's a massive set and takes two people to lift....
