Re: Samsung UN55C6300
Ya that seems similar to me. I just forced the backlight to come just now too. Funny though that I thought Samsungs make the backlight come on even without the main connected. Mine doesn't do that, I have to shove a wire between standby and power on.
Reading through this forum, I am under the impression that if it has anything to do with the main/tcon, it is best to do a total replacement. Is that because the size of the components is just too damn small to even attempt a repair, and or, you need special equipment?
Oddly, when following...

Re: Samsung UN55C6300
Oh jeez...I was reading it upside down. I was thinking it was top to bottom, left to right like the chart beside it.
Ya I was wondering why was the 12v and 18v distinctions reversed.
Since thats the case then yes I do have standby power (pin16 was really 4).
Shows how little I know about this >.>

Re: Samsung UN55C6300
Double checked I was doing it right. The visible top pins are odd# and give the same results. The hidden bottom pins are even# and give the same result. If I had odd and even mixed up, standby (pin 16) would be Vamp_18v (pin15) which measured 12.6v.
I wrote these numbers down with the backlight, tcon, and main board(obviously) connected.
Odd that only pin 4 measures what the legend says it should. Everything else is over or under.
I'm attaching better photos of the powersupply. Maybe there is a visual clue as to what...

Re: Samsung UN55C6300
Update:
I purchased and installed the repair parts that Tvtimmy recommended above.
As of now the tv still has standby. When the power button is pushed, the relay will click on and I will get a solid red light. No longer the 5 flashes. About 30seconds later the relay will click again.
I notice that the ethernet port on the main board now flashes its green/orange lights once.
The backlight still does not come on in any un/plugged configuration. The flashlight test results are negative.
Other than those slight variations,...

Re: Samsung UN55C6300
Thank you for the quick reply.
At such a low investment, it would do to put a smile of success on my face. As well as a smile on my brothers for getting his tv back from the dead.
I appreciate the help.

Samsung UN55C6300
Hello everyone.
I beseech the help of this forum in hopes there can be a resolution to my television dilemma.
Bear with me as what I layout might be long, but the slight detail may mean the difference between solution and failure.
Overview
I received this tv from my brother. I am told that after a week of idle (a vacation) the tv did not turn on. He took it for repair and was told nothing was wrong and that it did in fact work. And lo it did work until the next prolonged idle time. After a year delay he gave it to me to explore and play around...

Re: New Members - please post your introductions here
Hello,
First post as a precursor to starting a thread. A tv has thwarted me and I wish to enact revenge by solving its quandary.
