My friend changed the caps and monitor now works fine - even brighter than before. I hope that lasts.

We didn't change the big one, but replaced the rest - I bought the C107 as a 100V 47uF Jamicon from Maplin; the rest were Nichicons I got online but I forgot to check which series.

It looks like Farnell only allows paying by debit card starting from GBP 20 . That's a lot of caps.

I live in the United Kingdom (not far off London, but I don't generally commute there). What is the best UK place to by caps from online?

The C107 is CapXon 47uF/50V 6mm diameter. Not sure about series, it says GL... C640 VENT on it.

The big one (C105) is 100uF 450V CapXon 18mm diameter - I just read that some people don't trust CapXon and replace that too.

Where do you see the brands listed? The "nichicon" on the caps in the image?

I misspelled the monitor model . It really is 204B, sorry about the confusion. And I checked the voltages and capacities and these are the right ones for the 5 caps out of 6.

But, like you noticed, I'm missing the C107, somehow it's not part of the "kit". It's not bulging either (only one which isn't), but I think I can just get it separately.

My Samsung 205B monitor was dying for a long while, not turning on properly and requiring multiple tries. Now it stopped working altogether, just flashing the power light quickly. I'm pretty sure that's a caps problem.

But which ones do I replace?

I took a picture of them and some seem to have brown crap on the top, but others are just bulging very slightly.

Am I supposed to replace them all then? Is it a matter of time they will all fail?

A friend will help to do the soldering, but our experience isn't that great on this so I'd like to avoid...
