Re: What can you tell me about Epcos caps?
That's strange. I didn't notice it when taking the picture. Only the ones with an >-< pattern have leaked.
Could they be fake?
All the markings are the same, and the smaller caps have different vents as well. The board had no signs of previous repairs....

Re: What can you tell me about Epcos caps?
I know it's an old thread, but these are Epcos LL, on a Fujitsu Siemens D1215 motherboard (Socket 370).
Specs:
820 uF, 16V, 105 degrees.
The capacitance was way off on all of them, ranging from ~600 to over 2000uF (one of the leaky ones).

According to the datasheet, they are "very low ESR".Re: What can you tell me about Epcos...ead, but these...

Re: The Hall of Shame - Badcaps Photo Montage
Unfortunately the HDD was almost dead.
It took ~10 minutes before it was recognized by Windows (connected to a USB HDD dock). All the data could be copied, but it was very slow.
I've had hard drives fail because of bad PSUs before (Crapxon and Jenpo caps)....

Re: The Hall of Shame - Badcaps Photo Montage
PSU from a Dell Vostro 200 (300W AcBel).
It has a nice mixture of Teapo, Ost and Ltec caps (all the failed ones are Ltec).
The bad caps caused intermittent booting problems, and the harddrive is damaged (extremely slow)....
