Re: Monitor Has Taken on a Life of its Onw
It does but only if the base holder is removed first - that's what's holding the flap in place on little round hinges....

Re: Monitor Has Taken on a Life of its Onw
Got the manual thank you so much - but Phillips seems to have modified the case that holds down the panel that hides the screws - apparently to make repairing these screens as difficult as possible - here is what it USED to be like
There is NO WAY I can get to those screw on my monitor unless I break off the plastic panel flap that's hiding the screws. It seems that whatever is holding down that plastic panel flap is embedded from the INSIDE of the screen with screws or bolts or whatever.

CMJ21973 - Thanks for posting this - although it seems that modifications were made with my model. Much obliged for the effort. Maybe there's a 190S manual lying around somewhere on the nets. ~*~

Re: Monitor Has Taken on a Life of its Onw
I know - I just couldn't get to the hidden screws under that flap. I don't want to start prying anything till I know that either those screws have nothing to do with holding the screen together or that I don't need to deal with them, in which case, I'll start the prying....

Re: Monitor Has Taken on a Life of its Onw
Well, nothing has worked - so I just made a video as a last plea - hopefully there'll be someone on the planet who can walk me through this and open the panel - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iTwFvb9T8zg

Re: Monitor Has Taken on a Life of its Onw
How do I open the monitor? There are 2 small screws on the back bottom and that's it. I turned the whole thing around and around and no other screws are anywhere and those 2 screws unscrewed do not open the case.

Re: Monitor Has Taken on a Life of its Onw
Oh ok. I think I understand what this is. I'm pretty sure I can't do this alone and am in the boonies without anyone to help IRL. Is there a video somewhere on how to do this? Can someone please just list the process in a 1,2,3 kind of way? Very much obliged.

Re: Audio is on then off - windows sticky
I just switched the PSU with an older one I had that worked fairly well and the same thing happened - things were freezing, audio didn't load, couldn't get online etc. etc.
Did a system restore, am back online, audio icon is on the systray but still no audio - it's still greyed out.
Experts - I need your help!

Just did - no infection. Earlier also ran ComboFix today among others. It took out a few .dlls but wasn't the magic bullet either. :/

Re: Audio is on then off - windows sticky
Hi,
I appreciate what you're saying - and would look into that possibility. But what if that is not the problem at hand - what could be other reasons for audio loading/not loading at start up and windows that hang?

Re: Audio is on then off - windows sticky
Is this typical behavior of blown caps or shoddy soldering?
Does a program exist that can benchmark your MB connections and locate any short circuits or blown caps?

Audio is on then off - windows sticky
Hi guys,
My audio settings stopped loading - took out the sound card I had and reverted back to the audio onboard. That worked once, then on reboot - never reloaded. Went into control panel/audio - everything was greyed out. Device Manager didn't show any conflicts or disconnects.
Then windows started freezing and getting sticky. Intermittently, I would shut down - the audio would come back. Shut down and the Logging Off window would stay put till I pulled the plug, replugged, rebooted and the audio came back on again. This has been going on now for a few days. ...

Re: PC Shutting Down - Monitor Unpredictable
Yes, it's a 19" - duh
Will check out the warranty. If that doesn't pan out will check with PlainBill. Hope he has patience to explain this all to me ;-)
So very obliged - you guys are great.
