  • Lg 42lf5800-ua won't stay off

ok, this kind of stuff only happens to me. Most people can't get their tv to turn on. Mine won't stay off. If I turn it off, about 20 seconds later it turns back on again all by itself and its not that CEC thing. nothing is connected to the tv. I also have a problem in the IR receiver / power button joystick thing. It won't respond to pressing in the joystick to get it to turn off. the direction stick will work but that's it. I also noticed when it does power up the red LED blinks three times and then goes out. When the TV is on, it operates just fine but only with a remote control. I would suspect...

I have the same question. Does anyone know a good resource to learn identifying surface mount LED's ?

    Thanks...

  • Re: Sansui SLED4280

Is there anyway to isolate which strip? There are four leads which head to the strips. If I were to take one off at a time and turn the backlight intensity back up would that work or is there a better way to isolate the bad led or leds? Would a visual check indicate the bad led if I open up the panel?
    Thanks

    started a topic Sansui SLED4280

    Sansui SLED4280

I'm kind of new to tv troubleshooting. I fixed a few but I have a sansui 42” LED tv in which the backlight shuts down whenever the backlight is any higher than 2 on the settings. This tv has a separate LED driver and inverter board. All the caps on the driver board are not bulged. I also think I read somewhere that bad led's could be the culprit but all seem to light up normal judging by the screen's appearance. Thanks in advance to anyone that may have some troubleshooting tips for me.
