  • Re: Toshiba 32" regza 32AV615DB rolling horizontal colour bars

Thanks for the hair drier tip, I warmed each of the boards up with an hair drier, when i heated the power supply board up the picture was clear within around a minute of applying heat, so thought it was the two 1000uf caps i'd already tested so ordered replacements, the two new caps didn't fix the fault.

I tested the output voltages of the power supply board 5v, 12v and 24v all tested good, is there anything else i can do to try and fix the problem.

I have a Toshiba 32" regza tv, model 32AV615DB, when i switch on from cold i get horizontal rolling colour bars, audio is ok you can hear the station, when the tv as been on for around 10 to 15 minutes and warmed up the picture comes clear and stays good, if you switch off then back on the picture comes on straight away, the problem only occurs from switch on when cold.

I took the back off the tv last night, i couldn't see any bulging capacitors, there were two 1000uf/35v caps on the power supply/inverter board that didn't look totaly flat more inwards dent than outward so...

  • Re: Any electricians here?

If you live in the UK you will need a registered sparky to sign the work off to comply with building regs or you may void your home insurance, if you decide to sell in the future it is one of the questions asked have you had any electrical work done since part p was introduced.
