  • Repairing a DELL 2408WFPb

    Hi,

the monitor did not power up.

This repair was different from all the others. Not the caps this time!

Power supply was good. I had a clue that the problem was a bad solder joints in the logic board. So, I made the reflow of the logic board mainly of FLI30336 chip.

I had to remove the heat-sinks that were solder to the PCB.

This reflow worked and the monitor was working again.

But, this repair is not reliable. Some weeks later the monitor failed again.

I try to make the same repair but in...

  • Repairing a HP Compaq LA2306x

    Hi,

this monitor did not power on. No even the standby.

This model is quite new to have the bad caps problem.

In fact the issue was in the big diodes in the power supply. They were short-circuited. This was already the second monitor of this model with the same problem.

    Check the attached picture.

    Hello,

this time I'm repairing a BenQ T905. This was an easy repair.

Once again the culprit are bad caps in the power supply.

We can see the problematic caps on naked eye.

    Check attached pics.

I reflow the control/logic board. Note that this reflow repairs are not very reliable. Later the same problem can appear again. It already happen to me.
Note that the power supply did not had any problem....

Hi, I've repaired a model like this one. It show no power -the power led remains all the time off.
It had no problem with the power supply. I've checked several components.
I had no more ideas and as a desperate measure I make a re-flow of this control board.
I've removed the heat dissipators and with a hot air gun I made a re-flow of the main chips.
It was a surprise for me that this fixed the issue!

    Hope this helps you.

    Regards

  • Repairing a Fujitsu SCENICVIEW P24-1W

I've been finding several LCD/TFT monitors and TVs in dumpster that I've been able to repair. Usually the caps are the root cause for the problems.

In this post I've give my findings about the repair of a Fujitsu SCENICVIEW P24-1W.
I've already repaired two of these monitors and the issue is the same: bad caps.

The monitors that have this problem does not even lights on. Not even the standby.

The fix is done replacing 3 caps.

    Check attached images.

Hope this helps someone out there...
