Re: Anyone else have leds burning themselves out, or leds that are too yellow?
I assume they are 6 volt less, because the boards have about 30 volts going to 8 leds. So they run at about 4.25 volts.
I asked the seller on eBay if he had gotten any messages regarding their failure rate. He suggested I was getting them too hot/too long.
What do you think about my install temps/heating the back of the board?

Anyone else have leds burning themselves out, or leds that are too yellow?
I bought some leds off eBay, which the seller said were for this tv.
After changing them some of them would burn themselves out by developing a dark brown spot in the center of the led that would grow with time. the ones that didn't burn out were a bit more yellow.
Anyone else have this problem, or is it just my doing it wrong? Maybe too high temp?
I heated the backside of the led board. Used plenty of flux and fresh solder. I ran my cheap yihua at about 340-360degrees. And it only took me less than ten seconds to place most leds.
It...

Re: Repaired laptop charger , is it safe to use ? - General query
now my charging pin is physically loose .. so it could have happened because of that .. but even intentionally when i try hard to make the contact loose , it doesn't loose the charging or the charging led doesn't switch off.. so i suspect it is of bad cap.. anyways i would like to replace it.. though it is working fine now
My money says the cause was a bad connection this whole time.
Many, many times I have had continuity of 0ohms. yet it was barely making contact and therefore could...

Re: Rca picture in half??
Pssh!
Its the fricken Zebra cable connecting the very last wire to the LCD panel-The thin cable soldered directly to the glass panel.
Try pushing lightly on the plastic bezel under the missing line. Does it get better?
Try pushing lightly on the LCD panel. Does it get worse?
You'll probably have to actually lay it on its back and remove the bezel around the screen, then push very lightly on the very thin and delicate flat cable connecting the TConn to the LCD. A rubber eraser may be helpful. If it goes...Last edited by NeedsMoreFlux; 11-30-2017, 07:13 AM.

Re: Sanyo FW65D25T won't turn on, broken pwr button
I skipped over it.
Have you tested in ohms to make sure that you have continuity through the switch and from the connector through the switch and back out to the connector? I can't see if any traces are broken, or if you have good solder joints.
Does the light change on the front of the TV to show that it recognizes you hitting power?
If not: does the power rail change voltage to show that it recognizes your button press?
The power rail is probably 3-5, maybe 12 volts to the board/switch....

Re: Vizio E470 LED current mod.
scummy scammy manufacturers.
It is the higher voltage at start up that is the problem!

Re: Vizio E470i-A0 LED Strips
Yes, exactly!
The led is the positive rail, there is a gap in the copper trace under that lense/LED. if you pop off one of the lenses you can see the copper stops just under the legs on either side of the LED.
You can scrape off a tiny bit of solder mask on either side of the LED and test the LED.
The jumper wire is the negative trace.
I really need to make a youtube video and just-copy paste!...

Re: Vizio E470i-A0 LED Strips
OP, You are missing a few steps.
I'd get the T.V. apart and test that you are actually getting voltage-probably 20-30 volts D.C. on each strip. Divide the voltage your meter says by the number of LEDs on the strip. Yours could be 3, 3.3, or 6 volts.
Then pop off one of the lenses covering the led. warm up the underside of the board with a hair dryer or hot air station first. I set mine at 180F for this.
Then use a caliper to measure the dimensions of the LED. Could be 3528, could be 3030.
Do you know...Last edited by NeedsMoreFlux; 11-29-2017, 08:55 PM.

Re: LCD screen layers...
OOSH! Id start on a small corner that you wont notice. Or maybe on just a tiny part of the scratch.
I wouldn't want to EFF it up by jumping in feet first and doing the entire thing.

Hey fricka. I see your post on this site:

Trust me, and Louis Rossmann. That will NOT be solved by a reflow! If it works by heating it with a hair dryer-you need a new chip!
Look up louis Rossmann's videos: "reballing is bullshit." He explains that a GPU has tiny wires that touch tiny bumps inside the chip. The heat you put on it was enough to make that wire move a touch...

Re: New T.V.!!! $60 60inch Vizio Smart T.V. Burnt LEDs, Easy Fix!!!
My LED's will be here December 1st!!!!!!!11!!1!1!!!!!!!
I use a Yihua 861D+ $60!!! And good quality! Just remember to try running it woth the cover remover and see which Heat sinks Overheat. It will be the one on the left side-the one they use is puny! I stuck a much better aluminum one in there ans used good heatsink paste. I don't think they used ANY!Last edited by NeedsMoreFlux; 11-29-2017, 05:03 AM.

Re: LCD screen layers...
Can't "buff it out" with some automotive rubbing compound?
Don't know if I'd even want to try that, lol. but maybe if you tried with a q-tip on a tiny part of the scratch. I'd probably try horizontal and vertical, rather than circles(?)

Re: Samsung HP-T5064 Ysus troubleshooting problem
Disconnect the wire that feeds power in and see if you are getting a higher voltage when not connected. -If so: this usually indicate that the power supply sees a short on the board it's feeding and is compensating for it.
If you only have 90volts on the connector when unplugged then start testing the power supply board. I'd start tracing backward and testing where it drops, or figure out what is responsible for raising the voltage. Caps fail frequently and sometimes not visibly.

Re: How to power backlit LED's?
I am fixing a tv with led failure.
When you turn on the tv it spikes to 30 volts / 8 LED's = 3.75V each!!!(Probably too high-manufacturer programmed this tv to burn them!) Then it drops to 18.5 volts = 2.3V each!!!
I think your issue is that they are wired in series and ONE in the series failed!
Scrape away a tiny spot on the solder mask on each side of each LED then use a digital multimeter in "Diode mode" If the meter doesn't light up the led-reverse the probes.
I bet money you will...Last edited by NeedsMoreFlux; 11-29-2017, 04:29 AM.
