I resoldered the 2 eepromS, I will return the PC.
We did our best to save it! ;-)

Unfortunately, it did not work.
I tested the 2 files with the modified one (32MB), the 2 files "stock" and the old files you gave ...
Same behaviour, orange fading light only when I press the power button, as the post #22 (Spacez):
" LATITUDE 5431 with the orange light of death issue. only orange light when pressed power button.".
I do not know what to try now...
NB: The 2 EEPROM are powered (3.3V ok ).

So I have to flash BOTH files (16 and 32), with, of course, the modified 32 one?
PS: for the adresses, it is 009230000 to 00A02FFF?

I've got a latitude 5431 with no sign of life.
I opened the computer and, of course, someone played with the SOIC8 BIOS (16MO).
I dumped the BIOS and... it is VIRGIN, no data in it!
Could you rebuilt a correct BIOS for me?
Here is the 32MO dump (fortunately, this chip was not unsoldered :-) ).
It is a Latitude 5431 (i7) S/T: 6QVWJR3

Same thing.
No TPM and no NVMe.
The "original" BIOS is not the right one.
Someone already "played" with it, that's why the TPM is not recognize..
The "original" BIOS is for a 3520 (Cf. the service tag).

So I flashed your 2 files, but it is EXACTLY the same.
So better flash only the 16MB EEPROM, it's fast and very easy to remove (big soic8 and very little things to remove), no need hot gun. :-)...Leave a comment:

Hello, I try with Neoprogrammer but same result.
No TPM and no NVMe.
The only difference with your first file is now, after leaving the "Manufacturing moide", I have a prompt to choose between 3420 or 3520. -
Same things (no TPM, no NVMe and "unidentified System" with a difference: When the PC reboot after leaving the "manufacturing mode" (Alt+F), it asks for "3420 or 3520".
But no TPM and no NVMe detected.
PS: EEPROM flashed with Siberia 1.45 and CH341a (black).
EDIT > After another reboot, the NVMe is present! YES!
The discrete TPM 2.0 disappear BUT there is now "Intel PTT"...
Damned! the NVMe dissapear! (I just rebooted the PC!) :-/
I'm going to flash the new BIOS.

I tried and now, the system is no more identified as a "latitude 3520" but an "Unidentified System".
I have the classic alert: "TPM device is not detected" and the NVMe drive is not detected...
I will try a bios update with the new one (/forceit)...
Edit> with the "/forceit" parameter, I can choose the model! Now, it is recognized as a 3420.
We are progressing!

Hello, I've got a 3420 with a prompt password immediatly after the boot.
So I did the usual trick, dump the BIOS, and used Rex98 patch.
Now, the password is erased BUT the BIOS show "latitude 3520" instead of "3420".
I've got a message of TPM is absent and the NVMe drive is not recognized.
NB: At the beginning, this 3420 never go behond the password prompt, maybe the Bios was crossflahed before (the EEPROM was already unsolder/resoldered), I do not know.
The S/T is 4PKDJL3
The Bios is the "original" one.

It seems that "discrete TPM" disappears, only PTT (intel ones) still remains.
miss Intel Management Engine Consumer Firmware, consumer gigabit ethernet and
Emza Sensor controller (Cf. picture.).

I red in the post 286 (Futadmytro) that ONLY the 16MB file need to be written so I did it.
Unfortunately, error code 6-3 (BIOS corrupted) BUT I did the USB recovery procedure et VOILÀ!
No more message, the "chiffrement" is available under "security tab".

After a BIOS update, I have the famous "TPM not detected" ; I did a recovery BIOS procedure (Ctrl+Esc) , I also upgrade the Bios with the latest one, same error.

NO NEED to remove the EEPROM IF THE VERIFICATION IS SUCCESSFUL.
That's the essential point here.
"I did it aagain" today ; no more password, ~10 minutes. 😉
NB: There are some EEPROM which need to be removed, because verification did not ended successfully (I always try 3 times with autodectect at each try).
