i would take a picture but im not really sure its going to even show up in the picture its just one single pixel width about 3 inches off center on the left half and goes from top to bottom of the screen it doesnt do weird stuff just doesn't seem to be able to make all the colors seems it can do white and black okay and gray the menu color
unless someone knows about tcon failures and figures thats what it is
i could try another tcon
but taking the tv apart even further doesnt seen to be worth it...

when i unplugged the tcon the half i unplugged turned completely white in the center then as it went out to the edges the last 2-3 inches where darker black and kinda wavy like a picture frame just distortion i assume
it seemed to react the same way when i did either side
im just debating if its worth continuing to try and fix it more
i looked up or tried to find the little 2 inch ribbon flat cable i could only find one with a close part number but not the actual part on ebay guy wanted...Leave a comment:

i just cleaned the two white ribbon connection cables coming into the top of the tcon thats all i did not undo the other end of the cables going into the i believe h1 board under the top power volume controls
i think i would have to take the tv completely apart to get to the other end of the ribbon cable i can see the connector but i cant tell how it opensLeave a comment:

so then you think the tcon is okay then
sucks the first one i got didnt work now i have 0 zero tcon faith lol

okay did that plugged the right one back in to tcon unlpugged the left powered on
left side works okay that one line is still not lighting right when the screen is black its not noticeable but then when source plays its there again
right hand side is mostly bright white with some darkening black tint on the far rightLeave a comment:

it doesnt do it on the menu and white all lights up so maybe i got a crappy tcon replacement board ???
kinda seems odd that the tcon would maybe be working 99.5 percent so close you would think if it was bad or failing it would do something more spectacular
it definitely just diss appears some times like 50 percent of the time
that ribbon cable flat cable looks kinda beat up that attaches to the tcon
maybe the cable is bad it looks like it is only a couple inches long maybe i could try replacing...Leave a comment:

okay i did that unplugged the top right flat cable from the tcon
powered on it came on the right side is still working fine the left side that i unplugged turned all white with a little black on the outer left side
the area that had the weird acting vertical line is gone and is just pure white with odd horizontal lines
that not working vertical line seems to light up continually and solid white so white is okay i guess
it didnt seem to affect the onscreen display in that 8-10 inch segment...Leave a comment:

i did try looking at the connectors closely and wipe them off and tried several different times it might still be the connectors but i even tried moving them while it was on to see if it would change at all it didnt seem to
uuugghhhh
any idea do tcons behave that way i still have time to exchange the part for another just not sure anything is going to change worth the hassle to ship it back and forth

hello hope everyone is having a good year so far probably wont last much longer lol
i have a sony 46 lcd tv Sony_KDL46S4100
it was having problems the screen went all bleached white the picture was clear just bleached white and all rainbow color looking weird
so i ordered a tcon board from arizona installed it and ended up with just completely black screen i ordered a bad board okay i order another from shopjimy
get that install it everything goes okay turn it on and fixed TV great
then i notice a single line going from top to bottom vertically about 3 inches... -

hello my name is dean im from canada we dont have proper stores or supply routes to this barren wasteland so if something breaks you have to find out how to fix it
or send it off to civilization at 10.00 dollars a pound shipping fees
