  • Re: Yamaha PDM 5520 service manual

    Ok, update...

    The sticker on the back of the panel has the following votages,

    Vs = 85.5V Va = 63.2V
    Vw = 189.3V Vx = 55.1V
    Vq = -49.5V Vu = 27.7V

    No LED's on PSU or any that can be seen.

    I turned the power on and tried to measure the input voltage at the Xsus & Ysus, I could not get a reading, I then disconnected the Xsus & Ysus completely from the PSU and still could not get a reading.

    To make sure I had my meter set correctly I measured...

    The problem is, No picture or sound...standby light comes on when I plug power in, then, when I hit the on/off button I can hear two distinct clicks....one click then a pause of 1 sec then another click.

    I've tried connecting an audio source to see if at least I have audio but with no luck....

  • Re: Yamaha PDM 5520 service manual

    Thanks Bill....Here are the part numbers off the X & Y sus boards

    Ysus - ND 60200-0019
    Xsus - ND 60200-0018

    Like yourself, When I searched for these numbers yesterday everything pointed to these being Hitachi parts but no luck with finding a service manual, although these boards are still generally available after a quick search on google.

    PS: here is another part number I've found FPF24R-YSS0019 which is the manufacturers part No, after a quick search it appears to be Fujitsu Hitachi.

  • Yamaha PDM 5520 service manual

    Hi all,

    I hope this is the right section, I'm trying to track down a service manual for for a Yamaha Plasma Tv model number 5520.

    The actual panel number on the panel is FPF55C17196UA-55, I've tried scibd without luck and google isn't much help at this stage unless I'm using the wrong search phrases, would anyone have a link I could try, much appreciated...cheers

  • LG 32LX2D-AA LCD tv no picture/sound

    Hi all,

    I picked up an LG 32" lcd tv from a tv repair business, I don't know the repair history of the unit or what was wrong, the owner of the business simply said to me if there's anything at the back of the workshop then I could have, so managed to pickup 2 plasma's of which one still work and the above lcd.

    I've taken the back cover off and checked for any obvious popped caps on the main power board 6871TPT303B,and couldn't see anything out of the ordinary to my untrained eye, I then connected the power and virtually immediately the back lights came on and...

  • Re: Teac 42" plasma, no picture no sound

    Ok update,

    I took the Ysus out this morning, apart from virtually every solder joint being & dry cracked, nothing else appeared out of the ordinary.

    I carefully checked the IC's on the top & bottom buffer boards with a magnifying glass and no sign of craters or pinholes, I then decided to spend the next 3 hrs re-soldering all the joints, re-fit the Ysus, switched the power on and BINGO I can't believe this....I now have sound & picture. yay for me

    But!, there is a dual picture...

    Hi PlainBill,

    I followed tour instructions and connected PS2 to video 1 input, turned it on the afer a few seconds turned to the TV on and virtually immediately I could get sound, however, there is no sign at all of any picture or light on/in the screen, I'm guessing this is looking more like a ysus issue? I haven't touched the power supply as yet, simply put, i'm not sure how to measure this as yet being a complete amateur.

    Any further advice is greatly appreciated, cheers....

  • Teac 42" plasma, no picture no sound

    Hi all,

    This is my first post, well second, I was given a Teac 42" plasma Model PLMSDM1060, which I knew at time of receipt didn't work. The set has power but no picture & no sound.

    I pulled the back cover off & checked for anything visually, I replaced all fuses and further inspection found a blown cap #c16 on the zsus board.

    Also discovered that this Teac model uses LG panel & boards (shock/horror)

    Panel number PDP425V52330, I searched this forum for teac plasma's and didn't find that much info and then search for LG...

  • Re: New Members - please post your introductions here

    Hi all from Geelong Australia.

    I've always been interested in electronics and have come across the badcaps forum on a number of occassions during frequent searches for information, I don't have a technical background in electronics as even the newest of members here appear to bem but am a quick learner.

    I joined badcaps because I've decided to attempt to fix a plasma tv, I may be out of my league but I will certainly have fun learning.

    cheers
