Re: Which Eprom programmer to buy
That is the list I searched in and this exact model is not present so I googled a bit and found that if you find a chip that it's essentially the same you can program it anyway (what I found was a screenshot on a forum of a guy that had 2 nand and checked them with a SW and the only difference he found was the "generation" of the chip, so older and newer model), the question is how do you do that? You can't possibly manually check 250k datasheets.....

Re: Which Eprom programmer to buy
Thank you both for the answers.
So you recommend the T56 over the tl866II
On the aliexpress page there is a link to a compatibility list, right now I want to try programming a H27U1G8F2CTR that I have on a LG tv but it's not on the list, so how does compatibility works?

Re: Which Eprom programmer to buy
Guys I'm reviving this topic to ask if in your opinion buying a TL866ii plus is a good move considering I only need it for TVs; or which one would you buy?
Also I found on a polish (I think) website a "homemade" programmer called NANDLite which is only for TSOP48 nand. Does any of you have experience with it?
Right now I'm using a ch341 which woks great but it can't do nand and I'm seeing nands more and more even on non-smart TVs so I guess I'll have to be prepared.

Re: Which LEDs do you buy?
Yes that's why I'm asking for inputs, I don't want to buy something that is not good, as I said before the local resellers are selling the same exact stuff you find on aliexpress but for a higher price (I'm talking that the roll of 200 LED on aliexpress costs 1.21€ right now and the resellers charge like 0.30€/LED.) so since I can wait the shipping times if have inventory I prefer buying on aliexpress for cheaper.
When you say you take 1 hour to disassemble and reassemble the tv do you mean that you complete the repair...

Re: Which LEDs do you buy?
The 3V LG I'm using are the ones I've labeled Vestel, here in Italy they sold a LOT of tv, mostly 32" branded Philips, Telefunken and Toshiba which are very recognizable brands here. Then comes Samsung, and then all the random chinese brands starting with Akai.
About aliexpress, I must say that I'm satisfied with the LEDs I've linked; when I buy a full kit I try not to go for the cheapest and as of now I got no problems; the resellers here they sell the same exact stuff you can buy on there, I've browsed a LOT and they...

Re: Which LEDs do you buy?
I do buy the full set when there are a lot of broken LED, like for a 40" samsung that had 26 broken leds.. but if it's just a few I'm replacing them and I'm not having bounce backs really, the situation here is this: people wants their set repaired quickly and cheaply; If I fix them by replacing the LEDs I can do it in a few days (I fix the tv and I leave it on for a couple days) and I can ask a fair price. If I buy on aliexpress it requires time (so it's not quick), if I buy the same strips aliexpress sells but from some reseller...

Which LEDs do you buy?
Hello guys, as the title says I'm asking which LEDs do you buy for your repairs, so far I'm buying
3535 3v 2w for samsung
2835 3v 1w for vestel rebrands
3535 6v 2w for LG
The samsung and vestel ones can be found on other brands too so they are versatile.
Nowadays I'm seeing other types of LEDs mostly on all the chinese brands, they are...

Re: Eeprom dump thread!
I've fixed this tv with the help from another forum, I'm sharing the files with you guys.
42PFS4012_12_FZ1_SDA17110434.zip contains the update file, just extract the file to an usb drive (do NOT rename the file), plug it in the tv, plug the tv and what for the led to flash fast. After a while unplug the tv, unplug the usb, reboot.
The other file is the dump of the 25Q64 I took after a factory reset of the tv....

Re: Eeprom dump thread!
The CH341A is very cheap and works just fine, I suggest to buy a sop8 socket (200mm) and use hot hair, the clip is tempting but I found very often I can't use it because there's an heatsink too near or the programmer just doesn't recognize the chip when is still on the board.
Another user in another thread linked me this russian forum, a guy made a program to flash the chips and it's free, the program you often find on websites (by skygz) and even the sellers of the...

Re: Ch341A software/driver - Your setup
Hey thanks a lot for the link, I had to google translate it but looks like an active project.
I've programmed a 25q32 to test it and it worked, I'll have to wait for a real world test tho....

Ch341A software/driver - Your setup
Hello guys,
I've recently got me a new laptop to use for work and it's great and all but I don't know if I'm having bad luck or what but recently I'm facing more issues than before, while attempting to fix some tvs, with my trusty (and dirty cheap) ch341a (black pcb) and IC/firmwares.
I'll write my questions first:
1) Which program and version are you using to program the ICs?
2) Which driver
3) Which OS/version are you on?
I need to set a base of which I can be fairly sure about. I mean, if I put an IC in the programmer and it says that...

Re: Eeprom dump thread!
Hello, I noticed the philips's emptyburn tool is not on here so here are the (official) links
TV from 2015: https://app.box.com/s/tsrq6lnyzedopdw3k78hzu1htmkvp04y
TVs from 2016 and 2017: https://app.box.com/s/omze9q11q2iizvjqd51ev82kbaswox7d
The 2015 version is for the 4100 serie too.
This is an official philips tool that helps fix mostly reboot issues or and issue where the remote control doesn't completely work.
You need to flash this and then the firmware from...

40pft4100/12 bootloop
Hello, I got this philips TV (chassi "tpn15.1e la"), that when plugged in tried to boot up, shows the philips logo (the old one, completely blue background, not hte newer white on black) and then just reboots.
I tried
1)updating its firmware with the one from the website
2)using a couple of emptyburn firmwares
3)contacted philips to ask if there was a new emptyburn firmware and they sent me a couple links but they didn't work.
The mainboard uses a nand for the firmware and I don't (yet??) own a nand programmer.
I tried a couple...

Re: Vestel 17mb82-1a loses memory
If by "they" you mean vestel then yes, definitely even the newer TV suffer from the same SW issues.
Too bad I can't say if the updater alone would have fixed the TV when they gave it to me, I tried so much stuff on it since...
Thanks again to ayhan yılmaz for sharing the files on the forum....

Re: Vestel 17mb82-1a loses memory
Good news, I fixed both tvs!
I used (only) the full recovery software (upgrade_loader_nvclean.pkg) to fix em both, now they correctly save channels and settings.
I tried your 25q16 dump on another tv with the same panel but it would go in burn mode (where the screen goes all black, white, red, green, blue in an infinite loop), my dump I had saved works instead.
I have another board now, it works but it has tuner issues, it doesn't detect the RF signal, I'm planning on maybe try the tuner frowm another...
