• EVGA 650G Strange MOSFET Readings

Gang - Have an EVGA 650 PSU I'm troubleshooting. Posted earlier about a couple of components I thought were burned out. After giving the board a clean, both the diode and resistor turned out to be present and in working condition.

I went the next step of checking MOSFET readings between the ground, 3v3, 5v, and 12v rails. For most of the readings, the ohms would increase as I left the probes on. That leads me to believe a capacitor might be in parallel - would that be normal?

After gathering up those readings, I then...

  • Re: EVGA 650G - Burnt Diode Identification

One the the threads here I went through closely is from SniperSquad100 and shows a picture of that area on his identical PSU. It appears like the adjacent resistor (R82) has also taken a dump. I cannot quite make out the identification of that component.

  • EVGA 650G - not powering on

Good morning Gents! I have an EVGA 650G power supply that is not powering on. The fan will spin for about one second, then it shuts down. After doing a lot of reading on here, I pulled the board and gave it a close visual inspection. It appears to me that Diode D21 has burnt out in a big way. Is there any chance anyone knows what a replacement would be? I've scoured the web and could not find a schematic or reference.

Any help will be much appreciated!...

  • Re: Sharp Aquos LC-70UQ17U with a 3-1 that was really a 2-5...

I have a similar unit that I have been using for over 3 years that has a great picture, following an identical procedure of removing one side of the drivers.

Have you read the posts under the link that I provided in my initial post? He does a great job going thru each step of the troubleshooting process to determine which side is bad. I demonstrate loudly enough : IF YOU REMOVE BOTH DRIVER STRIPS, YOU WILL HAVE NO PICTURE.

    Good luck, keep us posted!...

  • Sharp Aquos LC-70UQ17U with a 3-1 that was really a 2-5...

This site is so great, helped me repair a second TV today. Wanted to share in just in case someone else stumbles across a similar issue.

I picked up this unit yesterday for free. Was flashing a 3-long, 1-short code. According to the service manual, this represents a communication issue with the main board. PO had replaced the PSU board with a used one and told me the same error code was present, so he gave up. Three years ago, (and huge thanks to this site!!) I had found a 70" Aquos that had the 2-5 code.

The excellent post by freakaftr8 (https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=49281)...
