• Re: Panasonic TC-P60ST60 Plasma TV won't turn on, no LED

Here are some recommendations:

(1) Be careful when you have the back off the set - lethal high voltages are present. Find a more experienced friend if you haven't done this before.

(2) See Post # 9, above. Make/edit a copy of it, and record each of the voltages on the pins. These are DC volts so set your meter accordingly.

(3) Start a new thread. Each set and problem is unique, it will be more helpful to others to have a separate thread for your specific issue (and the potential...

• Re: Sharp LC-60LE600U Won't turn on

I measured the resistance with the LED connector (top edge of PS) plugged in as well as the peak voltage before the PS shutdown. Below are the readings:

Resistance
Pin 1 = 97.4K
Pin 3 = OL
Pin 5 = 97.5K
Pin 7 = OL
Pin 9 = 67.4K
Pin 11 = OL
Pin 13 = 66.6K
Pin 15 = OL
Pin 2,4,6,8,10,12,14 = NC

Peak Voltage (Note: Each pins voltage dropped to less than 1v very quickly after plugging in the TV)
Pin 1 = 85V
Pin 3 =
Pin 5 = 85V
Pin...

Yep, for a brief period of time when the backlights aren't connected and a Reset has been performed.

I think I found your reference (budm) at https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=59988&page=2

Check your post #24.

My problem, is that they all go away after a few seconds. I'll collect resistance readings on the LED connector tomorrow. I also found the Service Manual (attached).Re: Sharp LC-60LE600U Won't turn on<...

...

• Sharp LC-60LE600U Won't turn on

Original Owner said they used it about 25-30 times and then it just wouldn't turn on anymore, no other information.

When I plug it in, the chevron LED will come on for a few seconds and then go out. I do see a very brief flash of the backlights.

I have 5V BU (see all voltages below) on Pin 15 and I have 2.2V AC_DET on Pin 13. Everything else on the Power Supply "PD" 24-pin connector reads zero or very close to it.

If I disconnect the LED connector from the Power Supply (top edge of PS board) and perform a Reset, then I see all voltages for...

Hi,

Unfortunately (for me), the Y-Drive was solid at 224V with the buffers disconnected. I'd be happy to have the PS go to a good home...you've been very helpful so it's yours - just cover the shipping. Check your PM for my email and we can go from there.

Thanks again!

• Re: Pioneer PDP-503cmx won't power on

I pulled the P2 connector that feeds VSUS to the Y-drive board and found that the power supply is outputting 224VDC as it should. If I plug P2 back in and it drops to about 202VDC again. I guess there's an issue with the Y-drive board that I got off of eBay then, maybe a leaky cap? Could also be a buffer issue but since the buffer circuits are bonded to the panel there's not much more I can do about that. I'll see if I can find a tested Y-Drive on eBay but I don't want to stick too too much money into this older plasma.

Ok, I'll try this today.
I'm aware of the service ("integrator") menu - but since I can't get a display, I wouldn't be able to read anything. There is also an RS232 service port that accepts service instructions - if I can just find a working laptop with an RS232 port.

• Re: Pioneer PDP-503cmx won't power on

I've reviewed the docs - they say that the voltage regulation never needs adjusted since it loads from a stored memory value. Since I had my A board replaced, could this where the incorrect low voltage is coming from? I know that at least some of the memory was cleared in the repair process - maybe this wiped out the original value. Not sire how I would 'put it back' in that case.

I also found a VSUS adjustment on the PS board - not sure if I should mess with it or not?

Hi,
Could have been for a 43in, I bought by board number not TV model. The one I replaced was a AXY-1053, that was the original board. Pioneeer changed alopt of them for AXY-1059 and then later I believe an AXY-1064 or something like that. I get back to looking the board over in a little while.

Thanks for your input.

• Re: Pioneer PDP-503cmx won't power on

After I removed the frame and gained access to the buffer boards, I can confirm that the buffers are indeed bonded to the panel.

The set is buzzing pretty loud when the raster is on the display so I didn't leave it on for long - I turned the set on, quickly took 2-3 measurements and then turned it off again.

Here's what I got:
SUSoutA = -9.0
SUS_U = 91.0
SUS_D = 1.3
PSUS = -35
SUSoutB = 1.4
SUS_U = 93.0
SUS_D = 1.1

Y-board connector measurements:...

Not sure, I'm going to dig into it tomorrow. The buffer boards sit under part of the frame, I'll have some disassembly to do to get at them. Between the Y drive board and the buffer boards there are two semi-flex cables that are more like sets of bent wires. No idea what's beyond that yet. Will post back.

• Re: Pioneer PDP-503cmx won't power on

Got back around to looking at this set. Replaced the power supply (found one on eBay for $18) and it no longer goes into Power Down mode (protection). Now I get an ugly looking raster display - See attached picture. Is the panel shot or is this some kind of issue with the buffer?

Still not getting any blink codes at all (just solid Red LED in Standby and solid Green LED when turned On) and I was not able to successfully read anything via RS232 with my cobbled together USB>RS232 cable and adapters. There was no signal present...

Okay, I've received my repaired "A board" (mainboard) back from the good folks at PTS Electronics. Returned it to the set and it came right up as expected. Happy I was able to rescue this plasma Smart Tv for only the cost of the board repair and my time.

I didn't get much information from PTS - only that they had replaced some components on the A board.

Thanks for all your valuable help Andrew! I very much appreciate it.

Now if I can only figure out why Netflix refuses to w...

Yes. I'm having trouble finding a replacement so I may eventually have to repair. I'll keep searching for now.

Okay, That went pretty well, lights came on brightly. Voltages measured:

Vsus - 202.6
Vda - 55.0

(P6-1) Panel_Main_On - 2.6
(P6-2) S1 - 0
(P6-3) S2 - 0
(P6-4) STB5v_On - 2.3
(P6-5) STB5v - 4.5
(P6-6) F15V_On - 4.3
(P6-7) GND
(P6-8) GND
(P6-9) F15V - 15.72
(P6-10) F15V - 15.72
(P6-11) GND
(P6-12) P15V - 15.72
(P6-13) GND
(P6-14) 15V_S - 15.72

Not sure where you referenced the 12V from, I could find nothing...

Thanks, I'll round up parts. No more Radio Shacks here so I hope I have the resistors on hand (I think I do). M5 - do you mean 5V on the main board? I'll probably be able to post result later tonight or tomorrow.

Thank you for responding, I'm a bit new to this but willing to learn.

Forcing the power supply on - I'd love to try that if you can tell me how. I have tried to accurately follow the troubleshooting flowcharts:

In regard to Page 86, I did get 1 click only. So I replaced the P board as the flowchart instructed. No difference was noticed and surprisingly, the replacement power board STB5V reads almost identical to my original supply (4.5VDC vs 4.49VDC) on Pin 5 of the P6 connector. I even thought maybe...
