Hello, I could not create the script required to change the serial number of the Pantum printer. Can you help me with this?

Yes. @timschuerewegen do you think it's OK I publish it?...

Re: Pantum P2502W Toner Reset Chip help
Under Linux I open the device file (in my case /dev/usb/lp0) and write to it/read from it.
Specifically I'm using freepascal, so I use a TFileStream, i.e.
FPrinter:=TFileStream.Create('/dev/usb/lp0',fmOpenReadWrite);

I'm stubborn but lazy:what are the address(es) of the page counter(s)? (at least in your version of the firmware).

Right, what are suitable addresses and the maximum you can read at once (I doubt it's 0xffffffff)?
Maybe the address of the page counter hasn't changed (even if mine is firmware 3.2.4.2).

Re: Pantum P2502W Toner Reset Chip help
Thank you!
I think I randomly tried the AclReadTable (I suppose 00 AC 00 09) and it hanged the printer, probably because it needs good parameters in the remaining bytes.
Could you tell me something about the parameters? And where did you find the documentation on the ACL commands?

Re: Pantum P2502W Toner Reset Chip help
No, definitely there's plain ASCII code there mixed with binary data.
The reply to those two commands comes in two frames, the first is a mirror of the command with the 8th byte containing the length of the second frame.

Re: Pantum P2502W Toner Reset Chip help
@timschuerewegen I got the printer, under Linux I found that I can write some commands to /dev/usb/lp0 and get back an answer (I tried the same on tcp port 9100, jetdirect, with no answer).
The commands have the format
(ESC)%-12345X@PJL ENTER LANGUAGE=ACL(CR)(LF)(16 bytes)(ESC)%-12345X
and the 16 bytes I found that give me back an answer are:
00 ac 00 01 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ->...

Re: Pantum P2502W Toner Reset Chip help
I just ordered a pantum printer and waiting for it to arrive.
If you're still around, could you give more details on how to send commands to the printer? (i.e. does it emulate a serial port, uses bulk transfers or something else?)....

Re: Asrock K7S8X R3.0
Thank you, anyway that's the point: the fakes usually don't look like fakes, and in HK are specialized in faking anything.
Sometimes I don't mind (e.g. if I'm buying a memory stick for the psp I'm not expecting to receive a genuine one, especially if the fake works as well as the original for a third of the price) but in this case I wouldn't want to have to recap again in a few months.

Re: Asrock K7S8X R3.0
Hello, I posted here a while ago (time flies) due to a single capacitor failing on the same board.
It has been working since then, it still works but all the taicon are swollen and it needs a reset to completely boot (but then it works fine).
I need to replace 12 capacitors, I found these...

Re: Asrock k7s8x r3.0, agp regulator?
I finally changed the capacitor. I couldn't find a low esr one so I used a normal one. Since it was a single capacitor, I disregarded everything in the faq: I just cut the old capacitor and soldered the new one on the old capacitor leads, without even removing the motherboard from the case, with an 11W soldering iron that barely melt the solder.
I'm not particularly proud of this hack job and, folks, don't try this at home, but....it works
. Let's see for how long.

Re: Asrock k7s8x r3.0, agp regulator?
If these regulators are linear, is it really necessary to use low esr capacitors? (since I don't know if I can find low esr capacitors around here)

In my board the only bulged capacitor is the one at the left of the "missing" one in your picture. The others seem fine.

Asrock k7s8x r3.0, agp regulator?
Hi, browsing this forum it doesn't seem that asrock is normally in the "badcaps" category, however I have one bulged capacitor (1000uF, 6.3V) close to the agp slot.
The symptoms: upon power up the bios beeps 8 times (repeatedly), the code is for "faulty or missing video memory" (there was a similar case in this forum but I cannot find it right now). Of course it's not the video memory (tried with 3 different cards).
It's not the power supply (tried with two more).
If I wait 5-10 minutes and reset the computer it will work with no problem or instability...
