Re: Sencor SCD 3554 MR - no backlight
R_J you are right.
I desolder those 2 pin in order to remove the white plate (light pipe/difuser) and found a SMD LED.
I did measure 6,8V on the pins, so I need to find suitable LED.
I will replace is and post some pictures after the weekend.
Thank you for help.

Re: Sencor SCD 3554 MR - no backlight
Under the display there is following:
- a thin white plastic foil/or tape with grey border. It is not connected to anywhere, it only sits under the display and it is partly glued on the clear panel underneath
- under the white foil sits a plastic clear panel or plate, about 2-3mm thick, it seems on side soldered to two pins, marked on bottom side. I dont see any LEDs under this clear panel.
I also checked all those SMD reistors - showing the value as per code, ZD and capacitor also tested...

Sencor SCD 3554 MR - no backlight
Hello guys,
I am experencing no backlight issue on detachable panel of my car stereo.
FM, CD works fine, information are sent and shown on the display however due to no backlight it is hardly readable. There is orange backlight for buttons - works fine and white backlight for display - currently off - dont know why.
It is not a menu settings - already checked.
Inspected board and no problem seen.
There are probably signs of glue ? Please see red arrows and advise. Anything to worry about ?
Also I replaced both capacitors 2200U and 470U however no luck...

Re: ATX-725B - start load ?
Exactly. Ohms law.
From your experience, what resistor value (ohms, watts) would you recommend in order to use safetely this ATX power supply as cheap lab bench power supply ?...

ATX-725B - start load ?
Hello guys,
I found an old ATX power supply which I would like to use as cheap power source of 5V and 12 V.
It has been working fine after I short green-black wires to start up it and plug 10 ohm/5W resistor as load to 5V/26A rail (red-black wires).
However after a minute this resistor became hot.
Without the resistor the power supply will not start.
I havent found a datasheet for this power supply.
Could you advise me a resonable resistor load and tell me how to estimate the value ?

Type of capacitors in Wifi router
Hello guys,
may I ask you for confirmation whether to use solely low ESR capacitors in a Wifi routers ?
I would like to replace these cap. because they are showing higher ESR.
I dont know the brand, neither the datasheet was found. However on the caps is written: PEACE, either CD11XH or CD263.
It is from zyxel router "vmg 1312".
Caps are warm but not hot. These are close to power cord....

Re: Zyxel WiFi VDSL VMG1312-b30b dsl port off
Thank you.
Right, I did measure open circuit in both directions, so it might be ok ? Or is there anything else what I could test/measure here ?
For education purposes, is there a way how to decode the color code/strip on it and find out the exact model ?...

Zyxel WiFi VDSL VMG1312-b30b dsl port off
Dear all,
I am experiencing troubles with my wifi zyxel router VMG1312-b30b
DSL port is off, DSL cable isnt detected.
WiFi, Ethernet ports are working well, GUI accessible.
After inspection of the box is obvious, that resistors R8, R16 are damaged/burned. Unfortunatelly, I am not able to find electronic schematic so I dont know the resistance.
Could anyone help me with identification of SMD R8, R16 please ? These are next to DSL (RJ-11)and...
