Re: Capacitor 22uf vs 20 uf
Yep, I've been noticing a trend with the mosfets being a secondary problem after reading some of the posts in here.
I'm still trying to understand the principles behind testing mosfets using the 'Seconds to Black guide'.
I'd like to understand the physical reasons why the test are done in the order they are because I learn things easier that way.

Re: Capacitor 22uf vs 20 uf
So here are the caps. Now that I found it out of the trash I realized I misread one of them.
The smaller cap is the starter cap I believe, it's isolated by itself by the transformer....Last edited by socratez; 06-24-2017, 06:25 PM.

Capacitor 22uf vs 20 uf
I bought replacement nichicon capacitors but bought the 20uf 50V instead of the 22uf 50V and the 220uf 25V instead of the 222uf 25V.
Am I going to have any issues with this?
Edit- I got the 22uf equivalent but I still could not find the 222uf 25V equivalent.Last edited by socratez; 06-23-2017, 08:29 PM.

Solder 80/20 PB/Sn
I picked this type of solder at the dollar store. Can i use this alloy to hold components to pcb?
On the wiki, it mentions it can hold radiator fins together. Which is usually copper or aluminum.
Am I correct that it has a wider temp range to solidify so it can cause broken joints more likely to form if not held steady?Last edited by socratez; 06-19-2017, 09:21 AM.

Re: Geforce 980TI black screen :-/
I've tried the oven bake trick on videocards in the past. Mine only lasted another 2 months and the same problem came back so I don't recommend it unless it's your last option.
