  • Vizio VO370M 37" LCD TV Backlights Half Lighting Up

I have a Vizio VO370M 37" LCD TV that will turn on to the Vizio logo, have sound, but the backlights only light up on the sides for a couple of seconds then go out.The middle part of the screen doesn't fully light up.If you shine a light on the screen, you can see the picture. The Vizio logo is white. This happened during a storm.

I changed one capacitor on the power board that was out of spec, and when I went to try the TV,I lifted the edge where the stand goes to see if I had a picture, and there was no power. The main fuse was bad.I replaced it,and it went again.I found a shorted...

  • Re: Hinasie 50K360G

Have you tried both T-Con cables one at a time? What I ended up doing was taking a piece of tape, and covering a few of the contacts on the ribbon cable, and plugging the cable back in.The whole picture was perfect, except for a vertical line on the far left, and a horizontal line along the very bottom.Mine had a crack in the screen on the lower left corner,so the lines could have been because of the crack.

I hope this helps. Please let me know.Thank You very much!

  • Hisense 50K360G LED LCD With Half The Picture

I have a Hisense 50K360G LED LCD TV that will turn on to a glowing/dark screen with sound, but no picture.I can change channels,ETC.If I unplug the T-Con ribbon cable on one side,I will get half a picture.Th other ribbon cable doesn't change anything.I have tried two different T-Con boards, and one other mainboard, and no change. The is a small crack in the lower corner of the screen on the same side that the ribbon cable I unplugged to get the half picture. Could the crack in the screen be creating a short and causing the whole picture to go out?Any help is greatly appreciated.Thank You very much!...

  • HP G71 Laptop Motherboard Keyboard Clip Help Needed

I have a HP G71-333NR laptop with a missing clip that holds the keyboard ribbon cable to the motherboard. On the 578703-001 motherboard beside the keyboard connector it says KB 26pin membrane.Does anyone know where I can get some of these?I could buy a bad motherboard, but with only one chance to remove, and install the clip,I don't like that option.I could try to shim, and tape it in place, but I don't know how well that would work.I see Digikey has some, but I don't know if any of them would work.Part number 503480-2600 looks like it might.Any help is greatly appreciated.Thank You very much!

  • Re: Samsung LN46A540P2F LCD TV Has Random Horizontal Lines On Left Side Of Screen

Does the large main CPU chip on the T-Con get very hot?Why I ask is when I put the original T-Con back in the TV to see how the TV acted(It acted the same),I noticed the square indent in the T-Con cover isn't deep enough to have it make contact with the CPU to act as a heatsink. There is about 1/8" gap. There was no thermal pad in there when I took it apart.I bought the TV used,so it could have been removed by someone else.Wouldn't the whole screen have lines if the T-Con CPU was overheating?...

  • Re: Samsung LN46A540P2F LCD TV Has Random Horizontal Lines On Left Side Of Screen

I read online if I unplug the LVDS cable, and the lines don't show on the screen, the screen is not the problem?

Did you have more then one bad tab?I would think more then one would have to be bad to cause lines on half of the screen.

Wouldn't the silicone pads hold the heat in?I see laptops have them on the video chip, but not on the CPU.Why even have it on the video chip?

Wouldn't the tabs overheat with the metal frame removed, and the TV not upright?...

  • Re: Samsung LN46A540P2F LCD TV Has Random Horizontal Lines On Left Side Of Screen

I just turned the TV on tonight to see if the lines appear in the menu, and they do.They would follow as I went up,and down in the menu, and were over the text, and not behind. One was a dotted red line. While doing that, the TV then started showing vertical lines instead of horizontal. The menu then was behind the lines. Here are a couple of pictures. This is with the replacement T-Con board.Bad T-Con board?Any help is greatly appreciated.Thank You very much!

  • Dell Inspiron 1545 CCFL To LED Conversion Help Needed

I have a Dell Inspiron 1545 that I bought without a screen. It was originally setup to use a CCFL display.I see online they sell LED screens for this laptop for less then the CCFL ones.I would like to know if all 15.6" LED screens have the same connectors, and are in the same location? The ones I have seen have the connectors in the lower left corner when looking at the back.I have read some conversions work, and some don't.Most say to use a R267J cable, but I have seen other cables for sale as well.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

  • Samsung LN46A540P2F LCD TV Has Random Horizontal Lines On Left Side Of Screen

I have a Samsung LN46A540P2F LN46A540P2FXZA LCD TV that has randon flashing multicolored horizontal lines on the left side of screen. The lines pick, and choose when to appear.Sometimes when I first turn the TV on,sometimes it takes awhile. They are always on the left side, and they don't go any further then halfway across the screen. Before replacing the capacitors, the horizontal lines are were mostly red,and didn't go very far across the screen. After replacing the capacitors, and the T-Con board, the lines changed to different colors, mostly black, and would go further across the screen when they wanted...

  • Re: Proscan 40LD45Q 40" LCD TV Help Needed!

I would have to say it is the power supply. The TV I had would turn on for a second, fade from left to right, and then turn off.I bought a used power supply, and it worked for awhile, but I ended up buying a new power supply, and that has solved the problem for now.I don't know what could have been wrong with the original power supply, and the used replacement.None of the capacitors looked bad.I hope this helps.Thank You very much!

  • Re: Vizio M470NV LED LCD Help Needed!

I would have to say there is a bad connection in one,or more of the LED strips connectors,or solder points inside the LCD panel itself. When they heat up,they separate.I hope this helps. Please let me know.Thank You very much!

  • Re: Vizio M470NV LED LCD Help Needed!

Did the description of the power supply on Ebay say it was suppose to be working?I hope you didn't pay too much for it.It looks like it was a pretty expensive fuse. But as you said, you have to do what you have to do!

Is the Sony an LED LCD?

    Thank You very much!

  • Re: Vizio M470NV LED LCD Help Needed!

That is for the LEDs plus the metal strip. The LEDs are on a plastic strip, and the strip is attatched to the metal with double sided tape. There are 66 square LEDs on each strip.

It says Best Offer. How low they will go is the question.

    Thank You very much!

  • Re: Vizio M470NV LED LCD Help Needed!

So the power supply you bought off Ebay was a bad one,and you just used the fuse to replace the bad one in yours?Did you buy it knowing it was bad?

I just read that you got your TV going.Seems odd that it would just start working. When you first plug it in,the Vizio logo on the front of the TV is suppose to blink for awhile.I honestly think there is still something wrong with your LEDs.Mainly one of the connectors on the LED strips.I think it is making a bad connection, and will probably show up when the TV is moved,or twisted.Hopefully...

  • Re: Vizio M470NV LED LCD Help Needed!

I took all the boards off from mine so there would be less of a chance of something breaking when the TV was flipped over to remove the screws, and metal trim around the screen. If you can find a way to support the screen off where you are working on it,you can leave the boards on.The front trim has to come off to get to the screws, and metal trim holding the panel in place.I installed the stand screws on the ends of the panel trim to hold the glass in place when the TV was flipped back over.Once you remove the front screws, there isn't anything...

  • Re: Vizio M470NV LED LCD Help Needed!

What they should do is put a 50,000 hour warranty on the power supply.I doubt that will happen. It's like their bright pixel policy. Why not a dead pixel policy like everyone else?
I see online there are alot of other people having the same problem.I almost want to say it is in the connector at the end of the LED strips.I managed to pull one off while changing mine out.Good thing it was on the old strip.Thank You very much!

  • Re: Problems with Vizio M470NV LED TV

I have the same TV,and mine would turn on,show the Vizio logo on the screen, and then go dark after a few seconds. If you shined a light on the screen, you could see the picture.
The wires do go to the LEDs.There are two strips on the top,and two on the bottom. If you end up taking yours apart, you want to be very careful with the connectors at the end of the LEDs.I ended up pulling one off the LED strip.Good thing it was on a bad LED strip.
It turned out to be the LED backlights,as well as the power supply.I had tried another...
