is it safe to assume then that seeing 3v3 on pin 8 which is labeled as 1p8vsb_vcc should be 1v8? Because the buck u6204 heats up and I am not 100% on what the function of this component is....

viewing under thermal, U6204 gets hot and the 1p8vsb_vcc on pin 8 is actually 3.3v. hoping anyone can help me make sense of what I am seeing here

as an update, schematic calls for nominal vsys voltage of 8.6v But I am only getting 6v. other voltages seem a little low as well like 1v7 on 1v8 lines ect. hoping someone can offer some advice hereLeave a comment:

also hoping I didnt possibly trip thermal protection at u5801 but I am unsure how to determine that. I do not own an oscilloscope. Ive attached the BV and schematic for anyone who wants to have a look

Surface Pro 7 1866 No Power
Hey guys,
I go a surface pro 7 in at the shop with a broken screen but reception did not test it and its totally dead. usb c Charger negotiates 20v and about 500ma which spikes to 1.8a on power button press and then back down to about 800ma. I have board view and schematic but I am kind of spinning my wheels here and am hoping someone can give me some info to help me understand what I am looking for a little better.
update: Following the power sequence up to the LPC, 1p8v_sam is present as well as pwrbtn#_1v8, No vsus_on tho. Is LPC what I should be looking at?...Last edited by Powerup; 01-18-2024, 03:01 PM. -
LG 38WN95C-W Black screen, with backlight, no on screen display menu or input display
This is an LG curved Ultrawide 4k monitor. Mainboard EAX69063601 (1.6). Customer brought it in complaining of no output and i figured it was likely a damaged output HDMI/display port. But no menu displays either but the monitor does have some chimes and tones when navigating menus and those are coming through ok and it looks like the backlight is on but no display with checking with flashlight. Everything is on one main board, powered by a 19.5v 10.8A adapter. Power in is good. No panel damage that I have been able to identify at all. Kind of lost on where to start here. checking voltages now as resistance is in the milliohms. thanks for the tips, Ill post back if lost. I'm also going to pull that one corroded cap as my g3h voltage is 12.3 not 12.6. not sure it is enough but im ruling out a parital shortLeave a comment:

history:
cx came in with a no power device. claimed it was left in subzero temps overnight in a motorhome. When he retrieved it in the morning, He dropped it in the snow. device presented with minimal corrosion, only visible corrosion was on C6455, PPBUS_G3h_SPKRAMPL. I tested the resistance to ground after cleaning and it was in the milliohms.Leave a comment:

I have an a2141 missing pp5v_g3s. 5v on ammeter and 1.6 amps. one port occasionally will negotiate 20v but still no power. I am stuck -
