John, I had this exact same issue (single pixel wide horizontal lines evenly spaced and fading from left to right) happen to my LG 55LM8600 today. My extended warranty just expired so I'm looking to fix this myself. Unlike you, the TV hasn't moved since we moved 1.5 years ago, so I don't think the issue is physical damage.
