  • Re: Curious about just the caps making a difference between LED TV power board models

I am by no means an expert, but in my limited experience, the higher voltage lower uF caps are typically physically bigger than the lower voltage higher uF capacitors. If you're worried about a capacitor doing the job it is intended for, I would use the compare feature on digikey to see if the specs you are looking for line up to what you need.

  • Re: New Members - please post your introductions here

    Hey everyone.

I'm an accountant by trade, but a jack-of-all-trades the rest of the time. I found this site a few years ago when I had a problem with my Samsung tv, and now I'm back because my mom gave me a bigger, newer sharp aquos that was giving her trouble. I just tore it apart and it looks like bad caps on this one, too! Glad to officially be part of the community.

  • Re: class action lawsuit

I got the same thing in the mail a couple weeks ago. I wasn't sure if they're sending them to everybody or just people who purchased capacitors from some place. The only caps I have bought so far have been from digikey, so maybe they just raided the digikey customer database and did a mass mailing.
