Re: Samsung ue46d6530
Is actually stripping the panel right down going to tell me anything. I've seen signs of corrosion etc anywhere so far and even if there was on the actual led ribbon terminals onto the panel itself would there be anything that can be done. I've stripped it down further to the thin Pcbs a the very bottom the t-con connects too and they had permanent connection ribbons which go under panel and I expect onto the panel itself. There are 6 in total and they are also very clean and look secure. It's either t-con or panel I fear. I'm Not going to get lucky with a...

Re: Samsung ue46d6530
Ok,cleaned everything real well, no residue came off. Use magnifying glass and no dirt, muck or corrosion is visible. No change, 1/2 screen worked when one connection 1 ribbon is removed. Ideas ?

Re: Samsung ue46d6530
It appears to be connection 1 that's playing up. I got some proper cleaning alcohol for doing telescope optics, I'll use that. Just a thought but if I removed the t-con board I could plug the t-con board connection 2 ribbon for the side of the tv that works into the into the t-con board connection 1 and see if it still works, and vice verse. Assuming their wired the same it wouldn't release the smoke and would tell us if its board or panel surely. Dunno if that's a dumb idea.

Re: Samsung ue46d6530
We are doing great. Is likely to be that board or the one the ribbon connects to behind the frame....

Re: Samsung ue46d6530
Ok, I'm assuming it's the one at the bottom then that's buried under plastic mostly. With the biggest cable running to it. From this I'm guessing there are two or more other cables from that to the screen that I just can't see. Better get my spade out. Thx. 5 mins

Tricky to turn off once all reconnected

Re: Samsung ue46d6530
Ok, disconnected biggest ribbon from smallest board, assume t-con, to the I assume video board. Powers up, back light comes on, no more white line across screen. So screen looks better but no graphics. I have nothing connected to to so unable to tell if anything is working.

Re: Samsung ue46d6530
Up, once connected back light comes on once power on. Standby appears to work and there's a line across screen

Re: Samsung ue46d6530
Removed power cable, afraid there no back light now. Although power supply does click once power connected. No more action afterwards despite several pushes of standby button.
