  • Re: Toshiba 46TL963

yeah, i suspected it might be the same part , but couldn't get a definitive yes from the seller, happily, the one ordered arrived and was also a perfect fit,

i drilled out the lugs, as they were stamped through on the aluminium, then a little smack with a chisel on the remaining ring of metal sheared it off flush, thanks for the heads up on that,

rebuilt the unit after a quick test of function and it popped back to life with a nice clear picture... actually appears to be quite a bit brighter than before, (i mean before it was entirely...

    Hey folks...

tested voltages, 1 of the lines was clearly out of range, after complete disassembly traced 1 led out, managed to find an exact match for the led strip from an ebay seller, as the panel no. was different from the ones quoted on the aliexpress link and didn't get a response from the seller,

led strips available here for $20 if anyone else has a need to sort one of these with $2 delivery,

    started a topic Toshiba 46TL963

    Toshiba 46TL963

Hi folks... have a tosh 46tl963 that flickered its backlight during a 3d movie a few days back, then went dark... i like the screen, so would like to ressurect if possible rather than consigning it to recycling / landfill, which seems a hell of a waste...

have flashlight tested, and picture / sound is still there, just no backlight...

attached pics of the boards, after opening it up, nothing seems obviously popped and no caps look swollen, so not sure if its the led power board or a faulty led on the backlight... hoping for the former, but wanted to gather an opinion...
