    Hi there.

My uncle's tvs leds went out.

I actually had some from a cracked tv that I picked up years ago.

I replaced them all except for 1 strip because I had cut one up for a project. He still had a couple that tested ok.

These are laid out 2 strips with 7 leds each in series. 3 strip sets in series, with another 3 strip set in series. A total of 84 leds. The power supply says it's 326v. 326/84 = 3.8v per led.

Well after I gave it back to him, 1 strip died 2 days later. The one that I didn't replace I guess.

  • Re: RX 570 Pulse itx 4GB GDDR5 - No signal

Did you get this one going? I have 2 MSI cards which have the same regulator. A 480 with 10k to ground on pin 2 and a 570 with 12k to ground on pin 2. Both don't power up. Trying to figure these out. Pin 3 to ground is 1.8k on the 570 and .2k on the 480. Other pins are about the same between the two. Do you remember what your pin 3 to ground read as?

I have one of these and it keeps burning 2r2 resistors at pr637 and r707. Mine won't post either. Voltages also seemed normal for the places that I know to check from watching videos. Can't test r723 at the moment, but when I get a chance I'll try and report back.

  • Re: LF320FX4F Mainboard

Well after repeated on/offs the lines actually quit showing up, so not sure what that was about. Also, I dug out the first mainboard from the first tv that I fixed years ago and low and behold the problem with it was two capacitors instead of one in the exact same spot. This mainboard made the power supply chirp, since both caps were bad and the other board that I fixed earlier just wouldn't display when turned on.

  • LF320FX4F Mainboard

I'm not a repair man, mostly a board swapper but have been slowly trying to be a board component swapper. I've had some luck with LF320FX4F tvs as I guess they are pretty common. Mom bought one that didn't work, so it sat. I found a cracked one in the dumpster and used the mainboard to fix hers. My nephew found one and I used the dumpster power supply to fix his. The power supply in his got a bad cap and I was able to use my moms as a reference to track that cap down and fix it.

Now I found another on the side of the road and was able to track down a bad cap on the mainboard....

I did it because it was free. A crapshoot. Figured I could get another board if it didn't work. Should have looked up how scarce they are first. Now it will wait in a corner with an ebay alert set for another board.

  • Re: LG 55UF6450 4K Colored Ants Fighting

I grabbed a 55UF6430 from the dumpster. Same board as the 6450 it looks like. It came on, had the menu but hdmi and channels were the colored ants like stated. Well, I followed some youtube videos and baked the board like I used to with xbox in the toaster. Before doing so I noticed that there was a bow in the middle of the board like the processor was sinking through it. So I placed it onto a circular piece of metal hoping that when it was heated for a while that it would flatten out. I first let it sit for a few hours on the lowest heat...

    started a topic Optocouplers

    Optocouplers

I got a free Polaroid flm 323 TV and I am assuming that the power supply is bad because I don't get any voltages like shown on Copp#ll tv site or youtubes. But I have it at the main cap. I already replaced a couple of diodes and tested the caps.

This is just for me to learn on and try to fix.

So I was wondering about the optocouplers. Took them off to test. Using a DMM I got nothing in diode mode up to 200k. My little lcr-t4 didn't find anything.

Using a tester i rigged up with a 3.7v battery, led and 1k res on breadboard and only one lit up and it...

  • Re: insignia ns-55l260a13 buttons not working

Took the cap out and a resistor that seemed shorted too. Those weren't it and the traces then ran under the metal shielding to one of the processors so I stopped there and just put it back together. It works with a remote. Thanks Budm

  • insignia ns-55l260a13 buttons not working

    Hello everyone.

I bought a used insignia ns-55l260a13 that they said didn't work. It was $20. But it does work as I turned it on and left it on for an hour. The only thing that I found that's a problem is that one volume, one menu and one other button don't work. I took out the button board and cleaned that up as one button for sure wasn't working. After cleaning they seemed fine with the meter. Then I noticed a short, with the button board unplugged between KEY1 and ground on the connector so I followed the trace until I found a cap (red dot) that seems shorted.

    Do...

  • Re: Emerson lf461em4 mainboard troubleshooting

Thanks, I'll have to look out for that.

I checked every part that looked like those in the kit pics, of course no part numbers but just going on the packages and everything seemed ok. The diode though, I wasn't sure about. Might have to lift it and check, because it had readings going both ways but they differed. I am more familiar with schottky one ways....

  • Emerson lf461em4 mainboard troubleshooting

Hi guys, I have an Emerson lf461em4 TV that is dead. I checked voltages as far as I could figure out and the power supply appears to be good. There is no standby light when plugged in. I assumed that I should be seeing a red standby light at the bottom front.

I have parts from a Dynex DX-32L200NA14 that I had saved away in case I find one with a good screen that I can part swap.
I noticed that the the mainboards are very different but have the same cable ports.
Not a wise decision but I went ahead and plugged the Dynex mainboard in the Emerson TV without the LCD cable...

  • Re: *Possible Purchase Magnovox 32mf338/27 Turns on for a second

I have this TV as well. $20 pawn shop as is. Sometimes it turns on fine. Sometimes I have to go through the process of pressing power, the light blinks then back to standby, 2 or 3 times before it finally comes on. With the back off and when it tries to turn on but fails, the middle inverter transformers make a buzzing sound. When it works it stays on, no problems. Just sorta turns on when it wants to.

  • Re: RCA RT2770 Reciever (Home Theater?) Need help!

Old thread but i could read my resister with a meter.Just found one of these in the trash. It works as in turns on but I do not have the correct speakers for it. Front left/right work. Subwoofer doesn't put out anything, but it might need the special subwoofer control or because I'm using line in with my phone? But anyway, the r202 is bleached out, can't tell the colors, it was loose on one solder point perhaps that saved it from blowing? Tests as 24ohms. Didn't see in any posts whether your units powered up or not. My unit is a...

  • Polaroid tda-03211c can't change brightness, no digital channels

I was given this TV. It had bad 10uf 450v caps, bad mosfets near those caps and blown fuse by the very large cap.

All the other caps seem OK.

Replaced bad parts that i found and TV works. However the brightness does not change when trying to adjust it in the menu. The picture looks good. Its not over bright or washed out. Just tried to change settings and nothing worked. It also will not find any digital channels when scanning.

Could still be a power problem or main board problem?

Has anyone had this problem? TV has sat for days unplugged...

  • Re: New Members - please post your introductions here

Hello everyone. Chad here in north east Texas. I joined up to say thank you to the guys who posted solutions to Polaroid TDA-03211c power supply problems. Bad caps weren't my only problem, there was a bad fuse and two bad transistors that i would not have figured out if i hadn't read through the posts. I've lurked before to gather other information but I had to jump in now.
