• Re: laptop camera module

From what I can gather from the schematic:

CAM_MIC_CBL_DET# is directly connected to 3.3V through a 10Kohm 5% resistor.

DMIC_CLK is the clock signal generated by the audio CODEC (92HD93)

DMIC0 is the microphone output (for both).

It is extremely unclear whether these microphones are analog, digital, or both. The output is supposed to be analog audio, but the clock selects either one mic or the other (during rising and falling edge).
Try leaving DMIC_CLK...

Note that you are enumerating that connector backwards in respect to the schematic. The twisted pair should be D+ and D- (2 and 3) but you've got them labeled as 6 and 7. It will make a lot more sense if you flip that around.
CAMERA_VDD (Pin 4) is the 3.3V.

Ignore G1 and G2 on the schematic, they're just the anchors for the connector

Hope that helps...

• Re: DELL INSPIRON 15-3567 (15341-1) not turning on

SIO_SLP_S4# is probably shorting through a semi-conductor. Either because something is wrong, or because a semiconductor component has failed. I'd take a close look at PQ4415 and PQ4416, or something that has to do with it. I.e. PU5151 and U4005. Try injecting some voltage to that board and see if anything gets hot. Obviously don't inject the voltage into SIO_SLP_S4# though. Note that this is the rail that should then enable +1.00V_CPU(VCCST), 2D5V_S3, and in turn enables DGPU_PWR_EN.

I don't think it is a BIOS issue...

• Re: HP 820 G3, Power Flashing.

If it was good before flashing the BIOS, chances are it's the wrong image or it's corrupt.

"HP 820 G3", and only that, doesn't really tell us anything. Theres an i3, i5, i7 or even an AMD board, each with different BIOS. And different revisions for each that could have yet a different BIOS. Need to be more specific. For example:

I have the board 831762-001 from an HP 820 G3, i5-6200U, and flashed this file with MD5 cb229e609f1ebd3d56e4da05cc2f6645.

With the provided information we...

You can not connect that camera directly to USB, or you'll fry it rather quickly. It needs 3.3V to operate correctly, as it says on the silkscreen itself.

If you don't want to get a voltage regulator, to minimize complexity I would recommend you use two diodes and a 100ish ohm resistor in series. But do never take this as a permanent fix for a permanent project.

Hope you have the original loom that plugged into the motherboard. That way you can easily get the pinout from the following part of the schematic:

• Re: Are some components spot-welded to the MBs?

No components are ever spot welded in any motherboard. It can be done with RF shields, but you'll rarely find those in consumer electronics since it's easier to just use solder or bent tabs. I've only seen those in modules of old military equipment with large "Replace Card, Do Not Service" stickers, and in one HP oscilloscope.

Some manufacturers, depending on the application (specially in cars where there's lots of vibrations, or high amperage power supplies), they will glue components before soldering....

• Asus E402MA REV 2.0 - Missing Resistors

Hello everyone.
I have received a board in for repair that has two missing resistors after another shop attempted to fix the battery connector. They're next to it and probably got blown off by the hot air gun. I've been able to find the boardview, and I can point the resistors in question, but there is no schematic and I do not have another board of this same model. Wondering if somebody has that board laying around and can measure for me these two.

PR8414
PR8401

In the attachments there is the layout and the selected resistors, along with the...

Electronics butter my croissant, and that is why I am here.
In this forum I've found tons of information I couldn't find elsewhere and for that I am very very thankful, this is such an amazing community I love being a part of.
Registered many moons ago but planning on being of more helpful to the community overall, and more participative. I just had no time until now with the thing that shall not be named.

As an introduction as to who am I, I'm a 29yo self-employed guy from Catalonia, mainly working...
