    @piernov, does it matter if the lines are red or blue? That seems to confuse me.

    When i try to power it on, light comes on for a second and just shuts right off. Not sure if its cause Bios chip isnt getting power or theres a short.

    @piernov, I was thinking the same thing also. But not sure how to locate a power line. i tested both sides at once and it same results as the left side.

    @diif, I have learned a valuable lesson the hard way. I might just scrap this board.

  • Ripped Solder Pad, Bios chip, Macbook Motherboard.

    As the title says, I accidentally ripped off the 8th Bios pin solder pad for a Mid-2012 15” Macbook pro. As I did research on how to fix this, i went to scraping at the center of the broken pad. at first i tried to resolder it back so i can make a connection. that failed since the solder didn't stick. so i scraped again. upon the second attempt i accidentally scrapped the middle, completely fraying the copper wire, so i worked my way outwards to expose the outer parts within the broken pad. my next move is to get wire glue to reconnect the circuit and replenish the pad so i can install my new...

    Hey everyone, Im Ken, been fascinated by computers since i was a child. Everyday learning since technology makes leaps every year. Picked up my first repair when i was in my early teens being the tech of the family and close friends. I hated it but it pushed me to learn more, and as I gained knowledge I gained sense of accomplishment. I love challenges, maybe thats why this is my passion. Thanks for having me here!
