I have the exact same TV with the same problem as the OP. My TV was a refurb originally, and when the problem developed (8 years later), I opened it up and found all the board screws quite loose, as in 2-3 turns. The main board has arcing and sparking evidence on the solder patches on the underside at the mounting holes meant to make contact with the metal shroud. There is no other evidence of faults, and securing the boards didn't fix it. So, I'm thinking the intermittent ground scrambled the on/off circuit processor. The green button, incidentally,...
