I only have a harbor freight multi-meter. It does have a setting for diodes (as well as ohms). I desoldered the SR506 diode from the board. as the board was discolored in this area and it seemed like a possible source of my issue. It appears that the schottky diode SR506 tests fine for one direction of current but is there any way of determining if it is 'leaking" or any other defect?
When I first attach the leads, the reading varies from the 700s or 400s or 200s but in each instance almost instantly goes down to ~135. Is this...

found one toasty spot on the power supply board
it is a sr506 diode 60v 5amp
can i substitute sr560? (I am not dyslexic) just that the price difference is notable 10x506=$1 while 1 piece of sr560 is $7Leave a comment:

Same here. Replaced the 5 swollen caps first and didn't solve the problem. Followed the above directions for replacing C32 and C33 (didn't appear damaged or swollen) and all is well.
