i got the info about it in my mail today. and am considering just having them replace the caps because i get a two year warrranty.

i havent gotten around to recapping teh psu yet but i havent forgot about it hehehe.... need to get some caps to replace it and i started looking and got distracted.. life aint it great. anyone know of a good vendor to get some caps for it ?

topcat how many caps did you replace and what model number was that supply ?

i think im going to go thru with recapping it and that KA7-100 board of mine next month..

nope no fuse problems or anythiong like that it seems to be just flucuating voltages and what not it will come on everytime. powers up just fine no smoke or nothing. it seems to just act funny like that tell it warms up.

you think replacing those caps with some good nichions of teh same rating will bring it right back up to tip top shape ?

Hi its me again just reporting some more badcaps... GRRR
this is one wierd beast here it acts the most strange when cold like when its shut off once it warms it seems to work fine.. go figure...
dont know if its worth the time to just recap it im thinking it is since there isnt as much fine soldering work in one of these compared to a mobo.
any suggestions on brand or what not. other then this cap problem its a great supply. Note: supply is just over a year old I'd guess 1YR 3 MONTHS

Just as I figured they did it for free and only cost me $6 to send it to them hehe. How much for a pack of caps from you for replacing them I know how to solder so I shouldnt have any problems. I have got desoldering equipment and a good weller iron.

also how much to send it to you to get them done? just curious its a good board minus the damn cap problems ive got a 950 stuck on it and 2 256mb curcial dimms and it is still a pretty fast machine. not as fast as this XP2700+ but still good for other things

Sent my KA7-100 board to abit for free cap replacement think it was about a year ago. this morning i was cleaning out all the nice dust bunnies and noticed something... 2 replaced caps are bulging up and one had electrolyte on the top. first one is the cap behind and inbetween PCI1 and PCI2, next one is next to agp slot on PCI1 side it is the one closest to the back fo the board with the keyboard and usb ports etc.. the caps are JPCON or IPCON not sure see attached photo. also see attached images of bad caps..

anyone else have this problem ??
