Re: Samsung PN60E6500EF blinking red light
The cause of this samsung plasma set power cycling on and off and only flashing the samsung smart logo before shutdown, then the most likely culprit is the Y Buffer boards as the heat causes the solder to flow out from the holes under the IC's.

Re: Samsung PN60E6500EF blinking red light
It was the main board that was at fault, I used solder paste (Paste-It) from Lowes and used a heat gun with a custom made end and fixed the Y Buffers set is up and running but the Y Sus is making a rather loud humming noise? I can't really here it when the back cover is I. Though?

Re: LG 50PN4500-UA plasma TV no picture
I have this same problem. Tv turns on and stays on just fine I can't here anything when I adjust volume and there is no green led flashing on my logic board. Dies anyone have any idea where I should start? Any an all advice would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Samsung PN60E6500EFXZA no power or standby
brentosmith. Did you take your Y Buffers off? If you remove the upper buffer you will most likely see holes on the underside where the IC's are located. This could cause the tv to power cycle or not turn on at all.

Re: Samsung PN60E6500EF blinking red light
Model PN60E6500E This is the underside of my upper Y Buffer Board. As you can see the solder has melted away and left holes underneath where the IC's are. I re-soldered all the holes and put it back in. The initial problem was the tv power cycling on and off with the Samsung logo showing briefly onscreen. Now the set stays on but I am getting VS & Va's ramping up then dropping off, I have all the ribbon cables to the screen and X drivers disconnected. Is it possible that because the panel is not calling for power from the boards that...Last edited by Logen1; 04-14-2017, 10:39 PM.

Re: Samsung PN60E6500EF blinking red light
I have the same tv. It comes on shows the samsung logo then cycles on and of in a loop? Does anyone have any ideas as to what might be the problem or should I take the back off and start doing some tests?

Re: LG 60PK550 Plasma TV - Bad Picture
Ok I found a donor tv it is an LG 60PX950. I removed the Z Sus, upper & lower Y Buffers, Y Sus, and the power board and put them in my LG 60PK550 that would turn on with no sound or picture and now it works perfect. The image was a little grainy but once I went through the picture wizard it looks impeccable.

Same result a before, the board became very hot around the eprom and another heatsink on the board was also to hot.

Sorry, I actually got rid of this whole unit a while back. It just sat in my garage without me fixing it. (I am assuming the LG 60 in plasma right?)

Re: LG 60PK550 Plasma TV - Bad Picture
I removed ic and cut a line through the HDMI traces and made sure they were not making contact with one another, but the board started getting really hot when I plugged it in. I am currently waiting for a board in the mail....

Re: LG 60PK550 Plasma TV - Bad Picture
I would still need all other cables except the LVDS cable in order too do an auto gen test correct? One of the HDMI's on the main board burned a hole through the PCB, so I don't believe I should leave it connect. Weird thing however is that on this model you don't need the main board installed for screen to (Prime) then fully illuminate when plugged in?...Last edited by Logen1; 04-04-2017, 11:49 PM.

Re: LG 60pk550 turning on and off
Ok here is my problem....the set will not light up at all, initially it was dim and I could make out a faint image, after testing the lower buffer I think it fried it because now there is no image at all. When I disconnect the Y Sus ribbon cable and detach the buffers but leave power going the the X drivers through the YSus and turn the set on I can see vertical lines on screen as well as static. But I turned it off right away as not to cause any more damage.
I was curious if it is possible to use the power board/ YSus, Y Buffers/ Z Sus from...

Re: LG 60pk550 turning on and off
I have the same tv. When I leave the ribbon connector from the logic board and the power for the Y Sus which also powers the X drivers along the bottom connected but I unplug both Y buffers I get a snowy picture for a brief second. Does this mean my Y Sus and buffers are bad?
