Re: LG 32LN 540B TV Sound but no video
I was planning to use the power supply to power up a couple of Omega2+'s that are very fussy about the precise voltage they require. Must be spot on 3.3V or they'll not bootup.

Re: LG 32LN 540B TV Sound but no video
A couple of shots before and after the clean up.
Well and truly dead. Seems a shame that such an integral board that only costs a few dollars to produce can't be replaced....

Re: LG 32LN 540B TV Sound but no video
@dick_barton if you had seen the photo of the LCD panel board you probably wouldn't suspect the t-con. The left side of the board (from the front of the TV) looks in a right state.
Picture now added.
Over the last week or so I had priced up new t-con boards and found them very reasonable at $20 including delivery.
Not checked the lcd panel boards yet but is it possible for a beginner to actually swap out these boards, even if they don't cost an arm and a leg?...

VGH_R, VGH_F, ODD and EVEN all read MINUS 4.99V

Should have gone to Specsavers. I'll post the readings from these test points shortly.

I'll see if I can find VGH_L, VGH_F, ODD and EVEN but I don't recollect seeing them on the t-con.
I'll also check out the LCD panel board.
Thought I had already stripped down the TV

Re: LG 32LN 540B TV Sound but no video
@dick_barton is the interface board what a layman like me would call the infrared sensor board? Tried with and without the infrared sensor board connected. Does it need to be connected i.e. should the TV work from the physical buttons on the TV?
@vinceroger69 what does the "lcd panel pcb" and the "lcd tab bond area" look like?

Re: LG 32LN 540B TV Sound but no video
I had checked the obvious 3.33 and 12V but looking at the full set it doesn't look right.
This is what I have:
VCC 3.3
VCC_33 3.3
VGH 0
P12V 11.89
HVDD 0.96
VIN 11.89
VDD 0.30
VGL MINUS 5
WP 3
SCL 3.3
SDA 3.3
SOE 0.66
Is the t-con dead? Can I repair it or do I just replace it?

Yes with the infrared sensor directly below it. Power board is centre left and video board centre right.

Re: LG 32LN 540B TV Sound but no video
@dick_barton the voltage is 11.92 on either side of TK. Presumably this is OK.
Anything else I can try?

LG 32LN 540B TV Sound but no video
My wife recently fell from a chair whilst "spring cleaning" and splashed our LG TV with the contents of a nearby mop bucket. Not much water and only on the screen.
We left the TV for a few days to "dry out" but all we have is sound and no video. The backlight seems fine but no picture.
The TV is an LG 32LN 540B.
Google suggests this is quit often a problem with the t-con board and I have attached a photo to this post. The part reference is 6870C - 0442B and as far as I can tell from the various test points on the board it checks...

Re: eax64905001 No Pfc Help ?
I posted in this thread for 2 reasons.
1. New users can't start threads.
2. My TV has the same power board as the OP.

Re: eax64905001 No Pfc Help ?
I tested all the regular test points on the t-con board and they were fine. I checked the t-con fuse for continuity although I'm not sure if I actually checked for 12V.
I can do a quick check and then upload a photo if you think it will help.

It's an LG 32LN 540B. Backlights are fine and so is audio, just no video.

Re: eax64905001 No Pfc Help ?
Any thoughts on how I can check if it is the tcon board that is faulty, or the video board?

We just left it switched off for a few days before stripping it down. No moisture inside.

Re: eax64905001 No Pfc Help ?
Hi guys, I have this PSU with a 3 to 4 year old 32" LG TV. A few days ago the good wife splashed water on the TV, near the IR sensor, and now we just have sound and no picture.
Trawling the internet suggests it might be a problem with the t-con board. I have checked the voltage readings on the psu and they seem to tie up with what's in this thread. I should just add that the LED's are coming on, just no picture.
For the t-con board I have checked against the published voltage points and they look ok. Can't find any details...
