  • Re: Samsung Syncmaster 225BW

    Picked up a couple images.

I'm having a bit of trouble measuring the voltages. Against the ground AC pin I get nothing. I'm trying to measure voltage at around 200v as those fuses are 125v (the other being 250v).

Can't rule out my multimeter or how I'm measuring. I have two and they both don't really register anything there....

Hello again, got one of these acting up again. I am not certain if it is the picofuse or not, it sounds like it.

Blue power comes on, no screen. If you turn it off right away after connecting power, it will let you toggle power, but any more than a few seconds and the power buttons forget how to work. No other response from other buttons.

I replaced the last of the caps (was lazy last time), so they're all now the Panasonic ones, except for the big C cell sized can.

I've been having trouble getting a good...

So, is there anyone else out there who might be better at identifying transformers?

I've been doing some casual looking for wiring diagrams for the board, most of the model numbers I've tried brought up nothing so far.

I think I have found some of the datasheets on some of them...

It looks like one of them on top has a drain on the bottom of it??Re: Dell Latitude D620 Power issue

  • Dell Latitude D620 Power issue

Okay, I'm starting another project before I move, probably a bad idea, but I want to get this puppy going before I head up to see some friends in case I can make it a gift.

Its another round plug Dell with the power light on the AC adapter going out as soon as plugged in. I checked what I could of the AC jack and it seems fine, its hard to test that center pin.

Which might lead it to be the mosfetts. Trick is I am not terribly good at understanding these guys yet. Especially when they have 8 pins.

Here's some photos of that area of the board.

  • Re: View sonic VX924

I did try a light rinse and aggressive dry, which did remove some crud from surrounding contacts. I may decide to just try the dishwasher trick described in one of the posts on the electrolytic leak discussion.

Is anyone sure the edges of the board won't absorb any of the water between the layers of the PCB? it looks like it may be a bit porous.

Its looking like it may be a bit more work than I want to get into with around a month to go before I have to pack the car and move. I just hate to ditch a possible good monitor it could...

Yeah, finally got around to setting a few things for my profile there. I mostly do this on the side as a hobby. I've gotten a few nice monitors out of it.

Trick here is I am moving and I have to reduce what all I am taking. Sadly a few projects have to be handed over to someone else or recycled.

I hadn't even turned it on, it was given to me to recycle. The panel is in good shape, else I would not have taken it in... just needs caps and possibly some other bits. The rather deep darkening on the board had me worried...

Sorry to jump in and Necropost here, but I was browsing idly on this model and came across something appearing the same as what I have going on here, and thought I would toss some pictures into the mix.

The monitor is one I picked up for recycling, and the power board looks kinda bad, so I was considering ditching this monitor. It looks like it might be a bit of work, and the board may be done with due to what appears a lot of leaked electrolytic fluid all over the place.

There's a lot of darkening around the Q320 and the main cap...

Awesome! Thanks, I really appreciate the time you are spending with this. I've been sifting through the forums and learning a good deal.

Yeah, not finding any hits on that supplier, some Ebay seller, but only a couple monitors.

Here's the pic, showing both off....

Great! That means its T2. Since I am getting 82k Ohms from its secondary loop. Now to find a replacement...

I see "0235NI26S" written on the side (of both), Though the 5's and S's look close, I am almost positive that is what is written.

I was not finding any hits on Digikey or Mouser (or Google for that matter) for that number, and there is no other information written on it anywhere.

Any good hints what to be looking for?

  • Re: AG Neovo E-19A (E-191)

Okay a little better, found another meter. around 955ohms on the two outside pins of T3, getting 82k ohms on T2's outside pins. both T2 and T3 are around 374ohms from the first of the six inner pins to each pin down the line, except the last.

Going from the top of the six to the bottom of the six, looks like I might be getting around 1 ohm. Same as I measure the 2nd to the 5th, 3rd to 4th.

Ugh, I need a new multimeter.

  • Re: AG Neovo E-19A (E-191)

I'm planning to do, right now I can only find a crap import multimeter I bought a while back. From what I can read, the transistors all seem to read nearly the same, it doesn't look like they have any shorts.

Its the Transformers that read differently, and I'm figuring out how to read them properly...

I guess the secondary loop on them is the pins at the side heading to the CFLs?

Well, looks like it might be the inverter. CN2, CN3 both stay dead black, CN4, CN5 both are 2 seconds to black.

  • Re: AG Neovo E-19A (E-191)

Well, I just got moved into my new place and fixed up a couple other monitors I had on my list to fix.

So I am back to having this on the bench.

I guess I have to figure out the best way to test these parts, I have a multimeter, but no ESR tester sadly.

So I disconnect the other CFLs and see if that makes a difference?

    Re: Samsung 244T

This is mostly because I ended up moving with a few projects half finished...

    I know that CS806 is a 47uf 6.3v capacitor,

    but the other two I know one is a 10uf 50v, the other is a 100uf 10v...

I was hoping someone knew of ways to get info on the schematics somehow or had one they could double check.

    Samsung 244T

Hello, I'm trying to track down some information on the power board inside this guy, I was hoping someone had more information.

Unfortunately I have not been able to find a diagram or schematic for the board in this, and I'm trying to double check what kind of capacitor it uses in a couple spots.

    Board: PSLF101401A

    Capacitor locations CM809, CM813, CS806

Other versions of the power board used in this monitor have some different capacitors at CS802 that does not match what this one has.

In other words, I lost which capacitors...

  • Re: AG Neovo E-19A (E-191)

Awesome, thanks! Yeah, I was thinking I might need to wait a bit, and with moving a month off, put the monitor back together. I might disassemble it again this or next weekend.

Just curious, C1 and C2 are both 220uf @ 25v, how close is the general rule for replacing caps? I have some 330uf 25v from an earlier repair.

I've heard some people here say go ahead as long as you get the minimum, and others say not to put caps that are too much higher (cautioning someone for putting 1kuf instead of 820uf).

    The thing...

  • AG Neovo E-19A (E-191)

    Hello,

Part time reader, first time poster here.

I've done a couple recappings before, so I have been learning steadilly.

I got a AG Neovo E-19A monitor that went out a bit ago, plugging everything back again today has the image pop up, but immediately shut off. The green light stays on, so I have to turn it off and back on again to see the image. I don't think that the CCFLs are on at this time, but its hard to tell without fully tearing this monitor apart. (its got a nice glass front).

It has a separate 12v DC source, and that reads...
