  • Re: fpd2485w cycling solid colors

I have seen this before in a repaired HP monitor and this was indeed test mode.
I got out of it by trying to press different combination of buttons. Since it had only 4 buttons it did not take long to find the right combination.
    Hope this helps....

  • Re: NEC AccuSync LCD 52VM (model L154F0)

Thanks retiredcaps. The voltage regulators were indeed 3.3V and 1.8V.
However, I managed to get a get a loan of another monitor with similar LCD panel (LM150X06). I have swapped the panels and.....the NEC works perfect with the swapped panel. To the contrary, the other monitor with the NEC panel behaves oddly. I say oddly as there is picture on the screen, but it looks like every second pixel is black and dead and the picture does not refresh, i.e. whatever the scereen shows just after the monitor powers up stays on...

    Thanks for your reply retiredcaps.
I tried to take some pics of the boards, but the quality is questionable.
Please let me know whether these will do, or do I have to try harder.

I am going to check the regulators, but since I am a rookie, I thought I clarify the methodology first.

So I assume the voltage regulators are the three 8 pinned smcs? I am going to assemble the boards back and power the monitor up. Then I am going to measure the voltages on each pin respective to ground? Does this sound...

  • NEC AccuSync LCD 52VM (model L154F0)

    Hi there,

I have recently picked up two NEC AccuSync LCD 52VM (model L154F0) monitors. Both of them have the same problem. When switched on, only a couple of pixel lines on top of the screen show picture. The rest of the screen stays black. This is exactly same for both of these monitors.

I suspect problem with the logic board or the LCD panel itself. I have opened the monitors and checked for obvious faults i.e. bad caps or burned elements, but visually all seems perfectly ok. In case this helps the panels are LG. Philips LM150X08.

    So I wonder whether...

  • Re: HP L1506 (BENQ 4H.L1T02 board) problem

I finally managed to get back to this monitor.
I have replaced the two 100uF 16V caps and the primary 68uF 450V.
Also resoldered the whole secondary side of the inverter.

The monitor started just fine in self-test mode and works fine now.

Thanks for advice and hope someone else can benefit from the info.

    Cheers, Redmike

  • Re: HP L1506 (BENQ 4H.L1T02 board) problem

Thanks PlainBill. I really appreciate your reply.

I live in the UK and the nominal voltage in 230V +/-10%, so in the worst case scanario 253V is possible, but probably not very likely.

Anyway, I am going to try the 100uF 450V at least in the interim, to see if I can get the monitor going.

I will report on the progress in due course.

  • HP L1506 (BENQ 4H.L1T02 board) problem

    Hello everyone,
This is my first post in the forum so please be gentle.

I recently got from a friend a fried HP L1506 monitor. This monitor uses BENQ 4H.L1T02.A00 board and from what I could gather from the net, the board is same as in BENQ FP51G monitor.

So, when trying to power it up, the monitors LED would only flash orange and the monitor would show no signs of life otherwise.

I have opened the monitor and inspected the board. The two 1000uF/16V caps in the right upper corner were bulged so I am going to replace them.
    The bigger problem...
