  • Re: Plasma display with 2 issues

Ok, the second issue I have determined after further observation to be the commonly discussed "sparklies" issue. The cause and remedy however, I am still hazy about. Does the localized nature (top center) have any bearing on troubleshooting actions?

Is this possibly related to the more prominent malfunction I have described?

  • Re: DIY smart TV or replace tv main board with newer model

I would imagine that many TVs have room in the case somewhere to take the guts out of a roku and wire it to an HDMI input internally. Of course, then you would be losing an HDMI input and the solution would be hardly more elegant than simply using a roku or chromecast as it was meant to be used. My current level of experience isn't far beyond putting a PC together from off the shelf parts and I don't quite trust myself to solder anything smaller than 1/2" copper pipe. But like I said, I'm learning. A couple years ago that copper pipe was un-joinable.

I just moved out to phoenix into an old house with many neglected appliances, I fixed the VCR and the Turntable, and...
