Fixed: Akai LCT2715 Power Supply Connector issue
I ended up taking the easy way out and locating a set of wires pulled off a broken unit in ebay. Should last another couple of years anyway.
Replaced the 2 large caps on the power supply board (The ones that usually never go bad) and added some of those snap on ferrite noise filters to each speaker line for good measure.
Put it all back together and it is as good as new now.
Thanks for your help and suggestions guys.

Akai LCT2715 Power Supply Connector issue
I have an Akai LCT2715 that I repaired the power supply on previously, maybe a year ago I think. It's been working fine but I don't use it much. I recently noticed a buzzing coming from the speakers even if the volume is turned down. I saw it suggested somewhere that it could be a filter capacitor issue. I could not remember if I replaced all the caps on this board when I did the original repair or just the faulty ones.
So I decided to take it back apart again and take a look. The design on this board was less than ideal. It's mounted so that there are about 5 connectors of wires...

Re: Dynex DX-LCD37-09 Roadside find with intermittent video issues.
It was a Samsung panel. After I took it apart and so absolutely no visible signs of either bad caps or solder joints, I decided it must be the panel. Oh well no money lost on this one at least! I definitely know from experience I will never buy a Dynex branded anything.
This TV met it's final resting place in the local landfill yesterday!
Thanks for the advice.
Maybe next time I will find a salvageable unit. So far this year I have found 4 fixable LCD monitors at least.

Dynex DX-LCD37-09 Roadside find with intermittent video issues.
I found this Dynex DX-LCD37-09 on the side of the road and at first glance it actually seemed to be in good shape. My brother in law hooked up his laptop into the vga input and declared it to be just fine after getting a good picture. I knew this would be too good to be true, however.
So basically it has a good clear picture and sound most of the time, but intermittently and at random times, the screen goes mostly green lines and black for a bit, then it pops back to normal. So now I understand why someone had an excuse to buy a new TV, and hopefully not another Dynex.
