Re: Broken Vizio E500i-B1, need of service manual
I'm no expert as well, but I think the problem is : the lack of required voltages allows premature failure of IC9101 and maybe IC9301. Because after the change of ICs the display stayed on for days, I could cycle thru inputs, etc.. but finally it failed again, now it only stays on for 1-2hrs before powering off.
Another note: there are other Vizio boards that DO provide the 24v, logically our boards should do the same ....

Re: Broken Vizio E500i-B1, need of service manual
If someone mentioned they have 15V as well as me it doesn't make it OK, cause my set still powers off on its on. Worth reading these:

Re: Broken Vizio E500i-B1, need of service manual
It's weird that the video/audio (main board) just fades away.. It would seem to me that if the main board powers up and operates for an hr or more with the 15.4 volts from the power board, it should always stay on. But depending on "whatever" it shuts off on its on.

Re: Vizio E500i-B1 - Powers on then fades out - Works if left unplugged for an hour o
DO you still have the TV? Still working? I have the same problem, 15.3VDC on 24VDC leg. I've changed main and power board, then bought IC9101, and IC9301 and replaced them. It worked for a while with the IC9301 replacement, but I was still getting 15.3VDC. I'm not sure where to look now.

Re: Vizio E500i-B1
Hey CAPWIZARD.. basically , it's doing what it's always done.. it will power up if unplugged for a while. I think ic9301 fixed it for a while, but finally ic9301 went bad again. I think I need to fix why 24v leg is only at 15.3v.. any ideas?? 😁

Re: Vizio E500i-B1
Ok, TV wouldn't power on today. So. Back to troubleshooting. You are saying if I only have 15.3v on 24v leg, it's ic9101 ...again?? ...

Re: Vizio E500i-B1
Will do, thx Wizard! Seems IC9301 has fixed it. 2 days, no failure..

Re: Vizio E500i-B1
That's what I think as well.. but, after changing 9301, it's been on for a day. No problems...

Re: Vizio E500i-B1
Well..here we go. I've replaced IC9301, TV turns on, we'll see how long it lasts. I still have 15.3 on the 24v legs.....

Re: Vizio E500i-B1
Well I didn't do that. But I will now. So, I probably need another 9101, right?

Whole tv. No audio. Video, or backlights. Won't turn back on with remote or button .
