Re: Vizio E471VLE Dead
Do I chalk up no replies as lack of interest in this thread and move on or does anyone have anymore suggestions ?
Thanks again

Re: Vizio E471VLE Dead
Would a bad eeprom cause this ? After researching it seems the e series are prone to eeproms failing

Re: Vizio E471VLE Dead
Does the relating resistance indicate anything conclusive ? Seems pretty straight forward to me from a logical perspective that it's the main board when standby voltage fluctuates when the board is connected and when disconnected I have consistent and accurate voltages.
I was talking to a buddy of mine last night and he said something to the effect of checking smp low voltage ic or low voltage regulator . Either of these make sense to you experienced individuals ?

Re: Vizio E471VLE Dead
I could not get an accurate reading. Resistance jumps from 1 to all over the place....

Re: Vizio E471VLE Dead
Same result. Does this pinpoint the main board as the issue ? Is there any way to determine what component on the board is failing ? Looks like servicing the board might be the only hope as I cannot find a replacement....

Re: Vizio E471VLE Dead
I am having trouble finding the original and revised main board available for purchase. Is it feasible determine exactly what's malfunctioning on the board or is this a scrap ?...

Re: Vizio E471VLE Dead
So where do I go from here ? Do these results indicate a main board failure ?

Tested and results are the same. Voltages fluctuating rapidly 0-3v...

Re: Vizio E471VLE Dead
Ok jumped pins 1, 11, 12 and have backlights. At this point all voltages across cn201 are correct and stable. Main cap cap value is 383v.
Going to try Bud's suggestion real quick and will post results
Thanks again for assistance....

Vizio E471VLE Dead
Hello all and happy New Year, I recently acquired this TV from a friend who stated "it's dead". I have had some success in the past restoring so I figured I would give this a go. I'm not an experienced electrician but I am comfortable using a meter and repairing pcb's. My lack of experience translates into difficulty diagnosing which is why I'm here.
Upon attempted startup the set does nothing but a very short and very faint one time logo flash if even that. Preliminary testing yields the following results.
Power board fuse = good
No bloated or leaking...

Re: Vizio M320SR turns off after logo
Well it's toast. There's a hairline crack in the corner of the panel. Like I said I was super careful so the only thing I can think happened is maybe one of the panel bracket screws was tightened too much.
Thanks for all your help I learned a lot. If I ever need to service a TV again I definitely feel educated.
Till next time...Last edited by Roush2fast; 01-26-2017, 10:57 AM.

Re: Vizio M320SR turns off after logo
Well have a new problem now. Put the tv back together and I know have a vertical rainbow on the right side of the panel. I was super careful and the process was easy so I have no idea what caused this. Might just be time to purchase a replacement. What could have caused this ?
