• Re: Replacement Caps, Elektrolyt vers Foil

Hallo,
sorry, I do not have a schematic.
The IC is a Fairchild KA5H02659RN Power Switch. The capacitor is connected between Pin 2 (GND) and Pin 3 (Vcc). I think, I will stay with an Eletrolytic Capacitor.
Changing the value from 2.2 uF to 3.3 uF should be ok.
The old capacitor is a NIC Components NRSA type.
Thank You for the answer.

• Replacement Caps, Elektrolyt vers Foil

Hallo,
is it advisable to replace an Eletroytic Cap with a Foil Cap?
I am replacesing E-Caps in a switching PS used in a DBVT-Receiver.
Next to the 10µf 400V Cap is a 2.2 µf 50V E-Cap RM 5mm located.
Can I exchange this one with a 2.2 uF 50V MK Polyester Foil Cap, or is an E-Cap mandatory?

The switching device is a 8 pin DIP socket 5H02659R (VE25) device.
Does anyone know a replacement device? The unit has 10W.

Thank You very much.

• Re: SDT-S-112DMR relay - where to buy in qty = 1

looking at Your pictures, it looks like they are soldered together.
The board to the right is the connectorboard to the Main PCB.
To remove the Input PCB follow the step <9> on page 19 of Your servicemanual.

• Re: Nichicon Replacement Cap (1980)

Thank You for the fast reply.
The LL is not a marking on the cap. Onkyo made a remark in the drawing and partslist to indicate, that these are spezial types. May be, they meant Low Leakage, as they are used at the input of OP-Amps.
They did not use bipolar caps. Instead they put 2 caps in series, with the +contakt connected together.

• Nichicon Replacement Cap (1980)

Hallo,
I'am looking for replacement caps for an Onkyo A-15 amplifier build in 1980.
Nichicon 0.47uF/50V. (M), 85°C, H8042
Nichicon 1uF/50V, (M), 85C, H8042
The caps have a yellow sleeve with black markings.
The partslist list them as 1uF, 50V, LL or 0.47uF, 50V, LL.
What makes me curious, is the LL and the yellow sleeve!
I think, after 30 years of operation, replacing the caps, is not a bad idea.

I think, You got a bad relay. There should not be any AC at the rear switched outlet, when only the MOMS switch is on.
Turn power off, tap the relay a couple of times, may be the sticked contacts opens.Re: SDT-S-112DMR relay - where to buy in qty = 1

Hallo,
sorry, I overlooked something.
Just measure the AC voltage in the switched rear outlet.
Have a nice sunday.

Hallo,
according to the turn on Procedure, You should check, that the relay contacts are defenitly open.
Turn on MOMS switch only, measure that there is no AC Voltage at F901 and F902.
If there is any, then You have a problem with the relay contacts (sticked together).
Reason: acc. page 22 only the ST +5V (Standby 5V) should be present.
The system should be in Standby with amber light on.
Now press the "System Power Control" switch. Normally this will actuate the relay and applies...
