Re: Vizio XVT3D554SV Orange Vizio light on powerup.
I haven't checked it. I helped my friend move his old one to my truck and then I carried it in myself. I assume checking by torch means holding a flashlight (for us US folks) up to it to see if there is any damage? I don't believe there is and have been gentle with it.

Re: Vizio XVT3D554SV Orange Vizio light on powerup.
Nothing different. I plug in power and the orange vizio light stays orange. I then hit the power button and wait a second and nothing changes. I then hit the remote power button and nothing changes. On the powersupply, All 5 Volts read but the 12 volt has no reading.

Re: Vizio XVT3D554SV Orange Vizio light on powerup.
I didn't see anything on shopjimmy. I am thinking the tcon is fine since I don't get the white logo and I can't read anything on the power supply even without the tcon board connected. If it is the main board, I haven't found anything wrong with it, but did find a company that will diagnose it for 25 dollars to see if it is working and if it is broken will fix it for 119.00 plus shipping. I guess if I send it to them and it isn't broken, I will be out 30 bucks but then can move down the tcon board route. I just...

Re: Vizio XVT3D554SV Orange Vizio light on powerup.
Just an update, I took off the boards to look underneath to see if I saw any burn marks, I saw some other posts where the board was burnt underneath. No luck.
In addition,
I turned it on without any boards plugged in - I got no orange light on the vizio logo.
I plugged in with no main board and only T-Board - No Orange light.
I plugged in with main board and no T-Board - I received the orange vizio logo.
Not sure if any of that helps, but thought I would do some testing recommended...Last edited by ca443; 01-04-2017, 10:03 AM.

Vizio XVT3D554SV Orange Vizio light on powerup.
I had a friend give me his dead Vizio XVT3D554SV. When you turn it on, all you get is an Orange Vizio light, it never goes to white and shows nothing on the screen. I have taken the back off of it and on the inside, I see a PowerSupply Board, that goes to the center T-Board (I think that is what it is called,) and a Main Board (with all of the connectors (HDMI etc.). I have looked at it very closely to see if I could see any bubbled capacitors, smell, or burning and can't seem to find anything. I tested with a meter a couple of points on the board (by guessing without schematics), and it seems...

Re: New Members - please post your introductions here
I am a do it yourself type of person and like multiple challenges. I am better off building with woodworking and stuff around the house, but am always willing to learn. I found this site through searching for an issue with a TV. I have a meter and am afraid enough of electronics to keep myself safe, but really don't understand capacitors, resistors, etc. Hope I can learn something.
