Re: Troubleshooting LED light issue
I spent some time with this and established that the PSU was in fact at fault along with a bridge rectifier which was inline with the cable to the lights.
I removed the bridge rectifier and the unit now works but the lights flicker presumably because the bridge rectifiers is not in series.
It was installed inside a weather proofing fitment and I had to cut it out. It is a DB107S. What I don't know though is what the wiring diagram for it was as I had to cut it out. Has anyone any ideas and if I simply leave it out is there any risk...

Samsung UE75MU6100 Line on display
Hi
I picked this up as dead and established that the mainboard was faulty which I replaced and this returned it to full working order.
Having finally got it up on the wall last week it has now developed a thin red line on the left side of the display which extends mostly to the bottom but gets fainter before practically disappearing.
The line is showing on all sources.
Moving it is not easy so any ideas would be appreciated. I've not encountered a line that isn't solid from top to bottom before.
Thank you

Troubleshooting LED light issue
Hi,
I have been asked to have a look at a LED Christmas light string on a 2ft snowman. It is a basic LED string wrapped around a wire frame.
The PSU is a 240v stepdown to 24v 580ma 10.4VA.
The voltage at the string appears to be fine but the string won't light. The string is not open circuit. I was told that it lit for about 30 minutes and then failed and has not come back again.
I am guessing I have a duff LED/resistor in the string but have no idea how to fault find this easily. If it was AC I would have used a tester pen at each LED...

Re: Monitor Audio BXW10
From other things I have read it may be worth contacting monitor audio for the schematic

Re: Monitor Audio BXW10
Thanks very much for the advice, I do really appreciate all the replies.
I had hoped we were looking at a few blown caps or the like but I just don't have the test kit, or indeed the bench kit, to do the level of repairs that look necessary.
I might try to see if I can see if there is someone who can otherwise Monitor Audio sell the PSU as a part but it isn't cheap.
Thanks again for everyone's help. Happy holidays

Re: Monitor Audio BXW10
Thanks for this also. It hasn't been apart so the only way would be component failure of when I was disassembling but I think that's probably unlikely. I have taken a close up which I hope might help...

Re: Monitor Audio BXW10
~ ~ = approx. 5 M ohm
- + = 134 K ohm
Leftmost switching transistor:
pin 1 + pin 2 = 2.0 M ohm
pin 2 + pin 3 = 400 k ohm
pin 1 + pin 3 = 2.0 M ohm
Right switching transistor:
pin 1 + pin 2 = 02.5 ohm
pin 2 + pin 3 = 0.005 ohm
pin 1 + pin 3 = 02.45 ohm
I am struggling to locate U209 please can you give me a pointer.
Thanks once again...

Re: Monitor Audio BXW10
Hi thanks so much for this. The speaker is measuring 3.05 ohms on the terminals. The two boards are mostly connectors but bizarrely there are two wires that aren’t that come off the 240v / 110v switch. I have attached some more photos which I hope are better. I will see if I can get the service manual. Thank you again much appreciated

Re: Monitor Audio BXW10
Thanks very much for the reply. I have uploaded some photos. The two boards are connected together fairly extensively so I have taken them as best I can without desoldering wires. Thanks again

Monitor Audio BXW10
I have a BXW10 subwoofer. It powers up and will sit happily in standby in auto mode (where it is sensing from the AV receiver) however as soon as a load is applied the relay clicks and it blows its fuse - the IEC socket is fused.
I have looked at the boards and there is nothing obvious although I know the caps in the RSW12 version were an issue.
Has anyone had any experience of this or ideas on where to start please?
Thank you

Re: LG 49UF770v No display
I purchased a new board for mine. The board needed re-flowing. There are a number of different boards for this model dependant also on the panel.

Re: LG 49UF770v No display
Do you happen to know which is the eeprom on this board though there is nothing obvious at all that I can see to indicate which IC it is? Thank you

Re: LG 49UF770v No display
Update - it has proved impossible to get the service menu to display. I am wondering if it is simply impossible to change the panel. The only other option would be to remove the eeprom from the faulty board and put it in the good board. Has anyone done this or got any ideas please?
