  • Re: Samsung LN46C630K1F power board capacitor

well I'm happy to report that after replacing the capacitor with a 2KV 220pf one I got off amazon the TV is up and running again. Thank you all for your help. Very appreciated.

I found another thread around here that talked about replacing CP820 with a 2KV 220pf capacitor. Maybe that is why, but I'm not sure.

Are you saying I may just need a new power board?

Yep that is the part number on the power board. Thanks so much for confirming as well as providing that schematic. I'll order one and see if that fixes it.

  • Samsung LN46C630K1F power board capacitor

Hello all. My brother in law had his Samsung LN46C630K1F tv go out on him. He said he was watching it when all of a sudden it started smoking and went out. He turned it off and back on and got nothing. So he gave it to me to try to save.

I took the back off hoping to find an obvious bad capacitor, but all looked good. I plugged the TV in to see what it did. When I plugged it in, all was fine. When I turned it on, the TV attempts to light up the display, it flickers a brief second of light before quitting and staying black. But about 5 seconds after this attempt I realized smoke...

  • Re: LG 60PC1D problems

I am unsure how to check those but will have to get my dad to do it. So I'll figure that out and then get him on the phone. In the meantime though, here's a photo of what the screen is looking like. We also found out one of the connectors on the "new" Y-SUS board was partially broken off. I'm not sure what the wires connected there are for, it is a small 4 wire connector and the wires head off underneath a small cpu style fan towards the bottom of the display....

  • Re: LG 60PC1D problems

    Thanks, I certainly understand.

In short, the TV turns on, stays on, and plays audio from an input source fine. But the screen wouldn't light up. The PDP doesn't have any damage.

I checked the Va and Vs voltages on the power supply board. Va read 59.8 volts (sticker calls for 60) and Vs was 192.9 volts (sticker says 193). There were also 5 volt wires that were right at 4.9 volts. Do I need to be checking these voltages on the sustain boards also?

I will have to get a photo of what the screen is doing later when I talk...

  • LG 60PC1D problems

Hi all. First of all, thank you for the great support you have all already provided me. Via a thread here, which I found via google, I have been able to do some troubleshooting on this TV, but cannot get it functional again.

So, this TV is my dad's who lives 900 miles away. about 3 weeks ago he called me and told me the TV popped and the picture went out while my mom was watching. I told him to get the TV off the wall, take the back off, and look for any bad capacitors. He found one and I hoped for $5 and some solder we'd be able to get it fixed.

    He got a new capacitor...

  • Re: New Members - please post your introductions here

Hello everyone. I'm posting here mostly to get access so I can post in another more specific forum for my problem. My dad's LG 60PC1d plasma tv went out on him, and I've been helping him try to get it fixed remotely. He lives in south Texas, I live in the midwest. I was there over Christmas and we've replaced the power board and the Y-SUS. We've gone from not being able to turn on at all, to turning on but only having sound, to now having sound but a blurry/scrambled picture.

Anyway, I plan to post in the Troubleshooting...
