It is a 110 device. The only switch I know it has prevents the motor from spinning the spindle, until the cover is closed. The readout panel should power up and the LED segments for the inputs should illuminate when the main power switch is on.

Ok, it looked like it just went from the line input to ground. Can you help with the current flow?

F2 is EPCOS EC 600 surge arrestor that tests open. I am not familiar with this component. Is this normal?

• John Bean VIP II Tire Balanceer No Power

Hello,

I have a power/control board for a John Bean tire balancer made my Snap On. the numbers on the board are:
PWB EAP0167G30A
ASSY EAP0167G31A

I bought this unit after watching it in operation yet when I brought it home and plugged it into 120V, it was completely dead. The switch and fuse were good so I removed the board from the machine for further analysis. When I did, VR3 fell from inside the cover. I resoldered this resistor but it still will not power up. Further inspection showed that VR2 was about to break off as well, so I removed it and...

I've already replaced the mains fuse. (See post #7)

Are you saying the TVS will show show shorted if it has failed?...

Could this Transient Voltage Suppressor possibly fail if the mains fuse and varistor were both blown?

If this is not the problem, any ideas where to look? I have power to run the audio and DVD drive but the backlights shut off after saying Please Wait. This is my first problem like this....

Does anyone have the service manual or schematic diagram for this set? I've been unable to source one on the internet.

Particularly I need to know the value of D3802. It is on the input side of the power supply and tests open in both directions.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

• Re: Philips 42PFL7432D/37 No Power Error Code 8

Thank you for this information. I still need a little assistance to understand.

I powered on the set, measured on caps 2U03 & 2U93 as shown in the picture, and read 12.8 on my meter. Is this the correct way to measure? I also had the voltage when I moved the COM probe to chassis ground. However, this power went away as soon as the PSU relay clicked off.

From page 34... " If the input voltage of DC-DC converters is around 12.7V
(measured on decoupling capacitors 2U03/2U93/2U6S
and...

Thank you but I have the 42 inch model which is not a black box. I have the schematics for the power supply, I just don't know how to proceed with troubleshooting it. Any ideas?

Re: Rca L32hd32d

I just bought one of these sets and found the mains 6.3A fuse and varistor were toast. I replaced both and now get a red LED when I plug in the set. The LED changes to green when I push the power button and the DVD will load/eject. The display momentarily flashes "Please Wait" while the backlights flash on, then they go off and it stays like that.

I've checked IC1303; it appears intact and normal. So I don't believe that is my problem.

I'm leaning towards this... but need a little guidance please.

• Re: Philips 47Pfl7422D/37 blinking 6 then 3

Hello. I'm not sure if I'm posting in the right place for my model but I didn't have any success posting my chassis model and pictures on this post here a few months ago.

The set is a Philips 42PFL7432D/37 with chassy Q532.1U-LA. It has a No Power Error Code 8. I've got the service manual but I need a little help to get me going in the right direction.

Thanks in advance!Re: Philips 47Pfl7422D/37 blinking 6

Anyone have any input on this power issue? It's the Q523.1U-LA chassis as used in 42PFL7432D/37?

I'm not sure which diodes you are referencing. Which ones might that be? None of the five LEDs come on. I do have +12 and +5 on 1B40 which is supplied by the SSB. I'm attaching a page from the service manual which I believe is pertinent....

• Philips 42PFL7432D/37 No Power Error Code 8

Hello all! This chassy is Q532.1U LA. The unit goes into protection immediately upon connection to power and the red LED flashes 8 times. (I haven't touched this set in several months but the last time I tried to power it up, the screen seemed to light up a little though nothing was displayed and I was getting an error code 28. Don't know if that is related or not.) I can use the SDM to bypass the protected start-up and the LED changes to blue but that is all: no Ambilight, no backlight, nothing changes that I can tell since I do not have a source connected. I don't know the operating principles...

• Re: 42PFL7422D/37 Service Manual Needed

Hello all...

I tried to power up after the set being off for six weeks and completely unplugged from everything but I'm not getting anything onscreen. I get the blue power LED and the backlight comes on but no ambilight and no sound but I can't tell which input I am on so I don't know if it's even set to what was connected. I can get into the CSM/blinking light mode and get an error code 28 Matrix Ouput Processor, via the flashes and the text file that is dumped to a USB stick. I can't find any info on this code.

• Re: Sharp LC-32SB21U No Power. Schematic needed for RUNTKA448WJQZ PSD-0568

Anyone??? I'm attaching pics of the power supply side of the board top & bottom. The MOSFETs that I removed from Q7112 & Q7117 are R5007ANX. I accidentally shorted the Drain & Gate and/or to ground on the heatsink that covered them when I was checking them. *goob noob* The zener(?)diodes that I blew & removed from D7115&D7116, D7117&D7119 had 24N written on them.

This is only my third attempt at SMPS repair. Repaired one with bad caps, second had bad IC that is on backorder...
