• Re: Vizio M3D651SV will not power on

After reading some other posts I was able to get the backlights to come on. They can be forced on by disconnecting the red cable between the T-con board and LED Driver board and then using a jumper between the 5vsb and PSON pin. At least I know the backlights definitely work.

I will keep an eye out for a main board.

I was doing a close up of the flash memory to see if I could see some numbers printed on the flash memory unfortunately I could not.

However upon looking closer is it just me or do y'all notice the smiley face to the left of the flash drive. I have circled it on the attached pic. I feel that this main board is laughing at me. I swear that smile is intentional on this board.

How about those 2 points on the eyes is there some check I could do on those that would tell me if the flash memory was the issue?Re:...

So the 2 pics in my last post are LDOs? Were the vdc readings ok for the ones I posted vdcs for?

I can not find much information regarding a flash memory or flash chip for this tv. Is there any other testing I could do to pin point you get me closer to narrowing down the issue?

After looking at pics of some EEPROMS I think what I listed as the 1st and 4th LODs on my post about LODs vdc readings could possibly pass as an EEPROM instead of LODs. I had to get a good camera to take picture a good picture of those tiny things.

Attached is a picture of each.

The 1st pic is located near the main connector from the power supply board.

The 2nd pic is located near the 2nd connector from the power supply board. I can get these 8 Pins to read VDCs when I jump the main...

I disconnected the IR sensor board and pressed the power button on the tv and nothing happened.

With the IR sensor connected I went ahead and disconnected the power button and tried to turn on with the remote. Nothing happened.

I can't seem to locate a schematic for this board.

Is the eeprom located underneath the metal square close to the center of the main board?

Flipping the main board I don't see any obvious issues.
Any other suggestions?...

• Re: Vizio M3D651SV will not power on

Well after reviewing some other posts. Since I think the voltage regulators are ok and looking over some other posts maybe the next step is to check the Low Dropout Voltage regulators. These appear to be 8 pin LDOs.
There appear to be 4 of them on the main board. The printed letters and number are so tiny to read off the LDOS I am going to need to get a magnifying glass to read them but for now I'll try to post what I thinking the printed letters and numbers might be. There is a small white dot around the LDOs I am going to assume that...

I have checked the voltage regulators and here are the vdc readings.
The main board appears to have 3 voltage regulators.

UP13 board location
H11170 line 1 of voltage regulator
1.2 224 line 2 of voltage regulator
Pin 1 0.00
Pin 2 1.21
Pin 3 3.31

UP14 board location
AX 11170 line 1 of voltage regulator
2153 line 2 of voltage regulator
Pin 1 2.06
Pin 2 3.31
Pin 3 5.23

UP15 board location
AX 11170 line 1 of voltage regulator...

Thanks for the next step. I'll look up some youtube videos on voltage regulators and report back with the readings I get late this evening or early tomorrow morning....

Budm I can only force the PS-ON to be present by disconnecting the connector from the main board and jumping from a 5vsb to PS-ON doing so gives me all the correct vdc readings from the power board even the 12v and 24v pins. Wouldn't this mean that the power board is good?

I get a 5vdc reading from the SMD fuse and 0vdc from the other what is supposed to get that other SMD fuse to get to a 12vdc reading?...

Regarding your "I am not sure if the 18V is switched 18V or not" comment the 18v. The 18v only kicks on when I jump between the 5VSBY and the PS-ON (Remote ON/OFF) pin. I believe the power board to be ok.

I do get 5vdc on one of the SMD fuses on either side. Can you clarify what reading I should get from the 2nd fuse? At the moment I get 0vdc. however when I check continuity the fuse appears to be fine. An I doing something wrong?

Thanks Budm.

When I get home this afternoon I will check those fuses.
I want to say that I happen to randomly check one of them and the one I check did read the 5dcv. Which might make since why I am able to get 5dcv at the power bottom and remote sensor those connectors are on the main board.

Maybe I did check the other fuse and it did read 0dcv. I take it that it might be those 12dcv that are part of powering up the backlight?

Replacing a 12dcv SDM fuse on a main board could it really be that...

I have numbered the pins, provided their descriptions and dcv readings.

Budm by “when TV is not turned on” I want to ensure you mean the tv is plugged in and the surge protector on. If so then the dcv readings are what I have listed.

By “power switch is activated” are you referring to when I attempt to press the power button on the remote or remote power button? If so there is absolutely no change to the 5dcv readings. Nothing appears to happen at all pressing the tv or remote power button....

• Re: Vizio M3D651SV will not power on

I do want to point out that during the whole process I could not get the Vizio logo on the front panel to display either the amber light or white light. I assume the processor is not sending out volts to the amber/white light connections as vdc remain at 0.

Below are the board #s:
Main Board #: 0171-2272-4662
Power Board #: 0500-0507-2030
LED Driver Board # 65T05-D02 followed with another # T650VD01
T-Con Board appears to have the same #s as the LED Driver....

Vizio M3D651SV will not power on.
I acquired this 65” LED 3D TV from a friend. That the claimed that while watching tv it just went out. There was nothing being displayed on screen and no sound. No light coming from the TV what so ever. There was no pop when it went out at least not loud enough to be heard. They did claim that the tv did something similar earlier in the day but it did turn back on. It was a couple hours later that I finally went out and has not been able to be turned back on by press the power button on the TV or remote.

I've taken the back covers off and...
