I was saying the voltages were bad because on the broad it says standby volts 3.3 vdc and the reading I was getting was 1.3vdc higher than that. Same going for the power on volts being 12vdc but the reading of 4.6 volts, and same for the backlight labled 12vdc, but only getting 4.66vdc. I have checked known voltages with my meter and not had any issues. All the voltages of 4.65 something were the same within a few milivolts. The BL on reads from 4.6 - 0 vdc when trying to light the bulbs. All of the measured values coming from the 15 Wire sprout connector...

I was driving to work yesterday and noticed a TV next to the curb. I stopped and picked it up. This will be my third TV repair, and I still have a lot to learn. I plugged the TV in and got a solid red indicator light, I pushed the power button and got a green light, I see nothing on the LCD panel, but I hear the Sony boot up sound, then it restarts, 3 times and then shuts off. Im getting six blinks on the red light. I pull the back off and start with the power supply, and here is what I found.
Wall voltage to board: 120vac
Fuese : Good
standby voltage: Not good (4.66... -

I got the Same reading prior to changing the regulator.. Is this a indicator of a shorted resistor for fixing the voltage on that regulator?
Looking at the regulator straight on, tab towards top, theses are my readings:

There is continuity from grond to the top pin, from top to bottom as looking at it in the picture
Top: 0.0v
Middle/tab: 1.24v

Common orange to white vizio logo, no sound no picture,. Checked voltages on regulators, all appears to be good but U8.. Its has 1.25 volts on the Input pin, 2.5 on center pin no voltage on output... I had to bad caps on the t- con board, was worried the panel was bad. Rand a jumper from 5v to pos, was able to shine a flashlight into the screen and could see the menu.. My struggle is finding out where I am losing the standby voltage.. And advice would be great.. I know a new main board is $60.. I wanted to fix the board of I could, fully for a learning experiance.. I have fixed 1 other vizio with... -

The voltage regulator (UP13) fixed the TV.
I have 2 vertical lines on the very edge of the screen.. Left line is red right is blue. They fade out and come back.. I did have to remove the ribbon cables to the main board, is that a posability I don't have it seated right? Component on the Tcom board?

I was getting voltage into the regulator, and nothing coming out. The lights in the back stay lit the whole time, however the white vizio light on the front does flicker somewhat but never goes out.Leave a comment:

I'm new here and I have a limited understanding of electronics, but thought I would give it my best shot at repairing this TV. Seeking some conformation to what I think I have figured out. A little background on the TV. I got it from a lady for $25, she said it works sometimes and sometimes not, she said there was a power spike and then it stopped working, not all of the HDMI ports work. I bought it without plugging it in (I know, My wife told me I was dumb for that) I get it home clean it up (blew out all the dust) plugged it up and I got vertical lines. I unplugged it and plugged it back in... -
